THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Radical plans floated by Jeremy Corbyn to extend the right to buy to tenants of private landlords have won the backing of a major centre-right thinktank as a way to address the affordability crisis facing young, aspiring homeowners.

The report’s author, Peter Saunders, a research fellow at Civitas, says “generational inequality” has deepened over the last two decades as house prices have raced ahead of earnings. “The result is that the younger generation is now expected to pay a much bigger multiple of its earnings to buy a home than its parents did,” he says.

Saunders says that aspirant purchasers should be subject to the same right-to-buy eligibility rules as those who can currently buy their council or housing association homes, and that they should enjoy the same rates of discount.

Who in their right mind would want to buy one of these private stock
houses, from landlords that don't put a penny into any refurbishment
and just rent out these hovels to any desparate sole.

The reasons for the high property prices are mass immigration and not enough
house building, with the main reason being continuous mass immigration.

There's also the behaviour of the building firms themselves where they buy building
plots but don't build any houses, thus keeping homes in short supply resulting
in higher prices..

Most landlords maintain their properties to a high standard as to do otherwise would be bad business. You just read about the bad landlords. You should try reading more sensible newspapers other than the Mirror and other left wing rags.

grannyboy - 12 Jun 2016 17:25 - 71526 of 81564

You've got the wrong person when you accuse me of reading the 'Mirror
and other left wing rags'

As to most landlords maintaining their properties to high standards..You've been watching to much 'Homes under The Hammer'.......

Haystack - 12 Jun 2016 17:32 - 71527 of 81564

I know lots of landlords and plenty of people living in rent accommodation and the properties are all better maintained than those of home owners.

Trump stands no chance of winning. Even Republicans won't vote for him.

The gunman may have professed support for ISIS, but he is probably a nutter. Lone gunman like that usually have mental health issues. It is unlikely that it has anything to do with Islam.

grannyboy - 12 Jun 2016 20:44 - 71532 of 81564

Haystack you're going to look a bit of a plonker if they do find he's
a 'sleeper' islamist.

It was reported on the news that isis has claimed responsibility, whether
its true? the feds will be looking at his internet action.

Meanwhile, his father told NBC News that the killings had "nothing to do with religion" but were motivated by homophobia.

He said his son recently lashed out in his presence after witnessing a gay couple embracing in downtown Miami.

"He saw two men kissing each other in front of his wife and kid and he got very angry," Mr Seddique said.

He added: "We are saying we are apologising for the whole incident.

"We are in shock like the whole country," he said.

A former wife told the Washington Post how she had left him in 2011, fearing for her life because of his violent abuse.

The woman, who was not named due to fears for her safety, said: "He was not a stable person.

Well it looks like this 'mentally ill' individual had been investigated twice
in the past about his connections with islam...But seeing has most of these
religious nutters from the religion of peace are 'mentally ill', it puts it
into perspective..
