Wondering whether to go long from here at 1.9711, Will the cpi rebound us back to 9750+?

MightyMicro - 18 Jan 2007 11:42 - 7155 of 11056

The poor old thing just doesn't seem to have the va va voom (technical expression) to stay up there. The consensus of the outpourings from the FX desks seems to be to treat the pullbacks as buying opportunities ready for the surge to 1.9750. After base camp is established there, it's onwards and upwards to Hil's $2 by crimbo.

Prepare for a bumpy ride.

"The consensus of the outpourings from the FX desks seems to be to treat the pullbacks as buying opportunities".......

What do they know? I'm shorting the pants off it atm.

:o)

foale - 18 Jan 2007 12:33 - 7157 of 11056

I see my exit was an excellent short entry... 1.9600 next

every knows the proximity of $2...and the professionals are playing that for all its worth.

foale - 18 Jan 2007 12:34 - 7158 of 11056

It used to be about $2....now its about.....which Crimbo... lol

MightyMicro - 18 Jan 2007 12:39 - 7159 of 11056

I'll add shorting the pants off it to my lexicon of FX technical expressions.

But $2 still on the cards -- perhaps a bit before Merv the Swerve's next announcement??

hilary - 18 Jan 2007 12:44 - 7160 of 11056

I thought a lexicon was a posh Toyota.

:o)

foale - 18 Jan 2007 13:39 - 7161 of 11056

1.9642 small long

mg - 18 Jan 2007 13:51 - 7162 of 11056

mg reporting for duty - been fiddling about losing money this morning - on crap longs - gonna pack it in for a bit until I get my trading hat back on. I put it down to jet lag - I reckon that's the excuse that MM would give if he could remember where he was/is most days ........ and I thought I'd start my New Year off with an insult :)

Happy New Year y'all - still looking for the 50p $ in the next few weeks

foale - 18 Jan 2007 14:23 - 7163 of 11056

out at 1.9705 enough for me atm
as a counter counter trend...

redsub - 18 Jan 2007 14:23 - 7164 of 11056

Nice call Foale ;-)

Seymour Clearly - 18 Jan 2007 14:29 - 7165 of 11056

Went long at 9658, just closed at 710, thanks Foale for the heads up

foale - 18 Jan 2007 14:39 - 7166 of 11056

lol...anytime...although I warn you
I am wrong a lot...

chocolat - 18 Jan 2007 21:28 - 7167 of 11056

You and me both in the pants department Hils :)
Empire builders' shorts again this morning and I've come home to a lovely 130 point welcome.

The neighbours weren't so lucky though - the best part of a cedar has currently taken up lodgings in their house.

You're a very naughty boy SC ;)
And nice to see you back, mega matelot, even if you haven't found your landlegs yet :)

hilary - 18 Jan 2007 21:44 - 7168 of 11056

It's certainly frustrating when tasty profits ebb away, Choccy. It had retreated about 50 pips from the low by the time I got the signal to reverse.

MM's not the only one who likes long legs.

I had a knock on the door from the postie this morning who delivered the MoneyAM trophy for Thread of the Year. I'll see if I can incorporate a piccie into the header over the next few days for everybody to enjoy.

chocolat - 18 Jan 2007 22:07 - 7169 of 11056

Heyyy the boat finally sailed in Hils :)
Did yours come with a rudder?

I'm not that bothered about being flat at the moment.
There's always tomorrow ;)

hilary - 19 Jan 2007 08:34 - 7170 of 11056

Seems to have a bit of an issue with getting down below 1.9740 this morning. If it can break that Asian range I feel you'll be able to turn the lights out1.

1 That's another one for the Lexicon.

hilary - 19 Jan 2007 12:43 - 7171 of 11056

I'm starting to get fed up with short legs now. Let's hope the leg up can yield something decent.

Seymour Clearly - 19 Jan 2007 13:46 - 7172 of 11056

I am behaving today Choccie. No trades now until next week.

Unless.....

(No, I really am too busy!)

Hils with short legs? Leg up?

Hmmmm...

:-)

MightyMicro - 19 Jan 2007 16:15 - 7173 of 11056

I think it's probably time for a re-publication of The Legs Up of the Zebra of Meribel.
