THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Way to go!!

iturama - 21 Jun 2016 10:10 - 71771 of 81564

Great to see Wales sending Russia packing. Putin will be best pleased. No jokes today from him.
The players will need to watch out when they get home for men carrying pointy umbrellas and definitely avoid having a cup of tea with those nice men from the Kremlin.

TANKER - 21 Jun 2016 10:21 - 71772 of 81564

yes great result for my country . but England had a bad night why do they put players like stu ste they are only interested in making their name play for their selves ditch them
they are wrecking the team

Haystack - 21 Jun 2016 12:07 - 71773 of 81564

Corbyn seems to know almost nothing about TTIP.

TANKER - 21 Jun 2016 12:30 - 71774 of 81564

well I do and it is what Cameron and is rich wankers want to take the best parts of all our services like nhs .

the working classes will be the big losers and will course big problems in the nations health

Haystack - 21 Jun 2016 12:35 - 71775 of 81564

That is complete nonsense. The NHS is specifically not part of TTIP. TTIP is probably ten years away. The US elections are stopping talks. Hilary is opposed to it and will win. The French and German elections are next year and that will stop talks. All the provisions of TTIP that relate to individual countries are subject to a veto by that country. TTIP looks like being a good thing for the UK.

TANKER - 21 Jun 2016 13:11 - 71776 of 81564

rubbish it is only good for big private companies fact and will be in force by next year

grannyboy - 21 Jun 2016 13:25 - 71777 of 81564

Where do you get this idea that the NHS is specifically not part of ttip?

It must be because cameron was, in his unmitigated slimey obfuscate snake
oil salesman spiel, assuring us that we'd got a bye from the threat to the NHS,
and everything would be fine and dandy..

Yes and i've got fairies at the bottom of my garden..

Haystack - 21 Jun 2016 13:40 - 71778 of 81564

There is lots of info about TTIP and how public bodies in all countries are exempt. There was an academic on this morning on BBC who specialises in studying trade agreements. He went through all the parts of it. This is left wing hysteria. All parts have vetoes at country level. There are parts of the NHS that were effectively privatised under the last Labour government. Those parts are up for bidding by any country in the EU at present. Some parts are already run by companies from France. There are quite a few hospitals that were built by private companies and are leased back by the health authorities. All done by Blair.

cynic - 21 Jun 2016 13:48 - 71779 of 81564

the problem with all politics, and specifically for now EU, is that claims that "we'll never accede power over......" uk courts, nhs, autonomy of parliament etc etc can always be changed further down the line, always "for the greater good of the country"

and again ...... turkey is 30 years from being accepted into EU ...... anyone offering odds on on that being within 10 years, because i reckon it's a good bet ..... even 5 may not be too far-fetched

2517GEORGE - 21 Jun 2016 13:58 - 71780 of 81564

Surely not cynic, Dave has told us not for decades.

Anti-EU party in power in Rome and Turin.
