Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Yesterday you confirmed that you were voting Labour. Now you want a federal EU,

Way to go!!

Great to see Wales sending Russia packing. Putin will be best pleased. No jokes today from him.
The players will need to watch out when they get home for men carrying pointy umbrellas and definitely avoid having a cup of tea with those nice men from the Kremlin.

That is complete nonsense. The NHS is specifically not part of TTIP. TTIP is probably ten years away. The US elections are stopping talks. Hilary is opposed to it and will win. The French and German elections are next year and that will stop talks. All the provisions of TTIP that relate to individual countries are subject to a veto by that country. TTIP looks like being a good thing for the UK.

Where do you get this idea that the NHS is specifically not part of ttip?
It must be because cameron was, in his unmitigated slimey obfuscate snake
oil salesman spiel, assuring us that we'd got a bye from the threat to the NHS,
and everything would be fine and dandy..
Yes and i've got fairies at the bottom of my garden..

There is lots of info about TTIP and how public bodies in all countries are exempt. There was an academic on this morning on BBC who specialises in studying trade agreements. He went through all the parts of it. This is left wing hysteria. All parts have vetoes at country level. There are parts of the NHS that were effectively privatised under the last Labour government. Those parts are up for bidding by any country in the EU at present. Some parts are already run by companies from France. There are quite a few hospitals that were built by private companies and are leased back by the health authorities. All done by Blair.

the problem with all politics, and specifically for now EU, is that claims that "we'll never accede power over......" uk courts, nhs, autonomy of parliament etc etc can always be changed further down the line, always "for the greater good of the country"
and again ...... turkey is 30 years from being accepted into EU ...... anyone offering odds on on that being within 10 years, because i reckon it's a good bet ..... even 5 may not be too far-fetched
