THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I'm coming to the conclusion that T is basically a stirrer to be honest . How many times is it possible to get that split of vote .

grannyboy - 27 Jun 2016 12:13 - 71909 of 81564

TANKER i've been ignoring your rants..But no more, YOU are just a
thick moron who just post to see you own stupid words in writing, and they
can only make sense in YOUR warped mind...

There WILL not be another referendum, unless the establishment collude with
each other and stitch the voters up.

And to put your trust in these CORRUPT MP's makes you look more GULLIBLE
then i even imagined...

Seems the pot is calling the kettle black!

grannyboy - 27 Jun 2016 14:34 - 71915 of 81564

You won't get a united country so long as you've got ALL the establishment
parties wanting to remain in the EU, in the face of a winning Brexit vote..

TANKER - 27 Jun 2016 14:45 - 71916 of 81564

I agree ever mp needs to be sacked and start again and let the people make their mp who they vote in stick to the mandate they got elected on ,

lets have professional people in parliament not any sod that as got the money to over ride the best person for the job .

lets clear them all out and start again
to wait till September to elect a new leader is not on

TANKER - 27 Jun 2016 14:47 - 71917 of 81564

gran by the way my self and my friends voted out to cut migration . now they are saying that's not going to happen so they misled voters

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 14:52 - 71918 of 81564

You have to realise that the Leave campaigners were not the government and can promise nothing. It wasn't an GE with a manifesto.

jimmy b - 27 Jun 2016 14:57 - 71919 of 81564

Haystack , the leave campaign was fought with immigration as a top priority .

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 15:01 - 71920 of 81564

But they have not won a GE. They are not and will not be the government. The money saved will not be spent on the NHS either. They were promises made by people who won't have the power to do anything. Farage was promising all sorts of things and he wasn't even an MP. Any money saved by Brexit will go into general coffers and the Chancellor will decide what it is spent on. With a mild recession on the cards there is no chance of extra money for anything. I voted out but didn't believe any promises. The promises were for the gullible.

jimmy b - 27 Jun 2016 15:05 - 71921 of 81564

If Boris ,Gove etc take over why would they not implement anything they said ,the country would be in uproar and if you didn't believe in any promises why the hell did you vote out ?

VICTIM - 27 Jun 2016 15:15 - 71922 of 81564

Boris in his speech said we must get the right people in this country , poss referring to hoards of former east europeans who descend on us . I think he knows whats wanted , whether it's got is another thing .

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 15:19 - 71923 of 81564

I voted out because I don't like the EU and I see it as a failing institution that might bring us down with it. Boris didn't promise all the things that people expect, it was various others such as Farage. Boris even said during the campaign that he liked immigration. There is only around £10 billion net to be saved. There were promises to spend some of it on farming as well. In fact there were far too many promises for the amount of money available. People need to realise that both sides lied. During the campaign no one seemed to mind or at least looked the other way.

TANKER - 27 Jun 2016 15:20 - 71924 of 81564

what about not paying out benefits to migrant after 3 months out of work these benefits must be stopped , and all in work benefits for migrants must stop coming to the uk to work for min wage will not pay taxes so it costs the uk biillions in inwork benefits it must now end

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 15:22 - 71925 of 81564

Boris may not be the leader. There is a campaign among the Conservative MPs to block Boris. Theresa May looks quite likely. Boris has to be in the two chosen by Conservative MPs before those two are put to the Conservative members to choose from. Last time it was between David Davis and Cameron.

TANKER - 27 Jun 2016 15:23 - 71926 of 81564

1. In-work benefits for the low paid are generous in the UK compared to other countries in the EU15 and may act as a much stronger pull factor towards Britain than to other member states. This paper finds that the UK is the fourth most generous country of the EU15[1] in its provision of benefits to low income workers after Denmark, Luxembourg and Ireland – with populations of 5.5 million, 500,000 and 4.5 million respectively. Furthermore, the UK is more generous than Finland and France and much more generous than Germany, Sweden the Netherlands and the rest of the EU14 in topping up low wages. When the costs of living are accounted for, low paid workers in the UK are the second richest in the EU15 after Luxembourg. Access to unemployment benefit, while paid at a lower rate than in many of the EU15 countries, is much easier to access in the UK where there are virtually no conditions of access, compared to more robust controls elsewhere.

Haystack - 27 Jun 2016 15:29 - 71927 of 81564

Remain campaigners may sign up as Conservative members to vote against Boris. Theresa May was a remain supporter. If she is PM then expect a stitch up, that is if she leaves at all.
