Hi y'all.
Just off to mash the spuds.
Bangers & mash for tea.

Socrates - 05 Jun 2004 17:44 - 7202 of 23498

Oh dear Hightone, it had better be a big pie with your two nags in it too.

Socrates - 05 Jun 2004 20:08 - 7203 of 23498

I know it is a bit naughty, but then the best things always are. I have a pack of bacon and cut it up into small pieces about 2" long and I'm frying them in a nice hot pan. Just till they are about to go hard, that state where they are browned and smelling like something totally irresistable, which of course is what they are. Finally, eat them with a look of sheer ecstacy and delight.

Anyone want to join in?

Don't you just love it when a pan comes together!

Jariise - 05 Jun 2004 22:19 - 7204 of 23498

try adding cheese and some left over mash patato in the frying pan mix together heat for three mins then eat

Socrates - 05 Jun 2004 23:17 - 7208 of 23498

Roll up folks, I've got a stack of bacon for all the hungry mouths. Sherry trifle for afters.

jj50 - 05 Jun 2004 23:26 - 7209 of 23498

Delicious Socs - the butter from that roll is dripping down my chin- must have been local Gloucestershire bacon - old Spotted or whatever! What's on offer to drink with this . ..... I think I shall pass on the sherry trifle, perhaps a bit too heavy but enjoy ...

jj50 - 05 Jun 2004 23:27 - 7210 of 23498

DD are you going to have some of Socs bacon?

daves dazzlers - 05 Jun 2004 23:29 - 7211 of 23498

dotel - 05 Jun 2004 23:29 - 7212 of 23498

Thought you'd never ask, Socks, seeing as you never saved me any shepherd's pie..

jj50 - 05 Jun 2004 23:34 - 7213 of 23498

Evening dotel. I wonder if Socs does this much cooking when Mrs Socks is around?

daves dazzlers - 05 Jun 2004 23:38 - 7214 of 23498

ladies ,ladies,,there seems to be a pattern here,,,when socks gets his pork loin out,,,,,,ladies appear from nowhere.

jj50 - 05 Jun 2004 23:40 - 7215 of 23498

Jealousy will get you nowhere dd

dotel - 05 Jun 2004 23:41 - 7216 of 23498

Hi jj - I expect that's why she went away - must have had sherry trifles coming out of hers ears.. ;)

Socrates - 05 Jun 2004 23:42 - 7217 of 23498

dotel
Hush about the shepherds pie, someone's been around asking after the shepherd. They found his clothes, boots and crook but no sign of him. Help yourself to bacon and sherry trifle, the trifle is another special, lots of champagne in it.

DD
Sorry, not a commissioned type so can't help. You shouldn't complain though, some people pay a fortune to watch the 'Arrows'.

jj50
It's proper dry cured bacon, Gloucester Old Spot. Makes super sizzling sausages too. Just wait till the next bangers and mash night, can't be beaten with a drop of good old onion gravy. Stop drooling now, you're supposed to be grown up.

daves dazzlers - 05 Jun 2004 23:43 - 7218 of 23498

oh well worth a try,i never new pork got the ladies flustered.
