THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Fred would love to see Scotland leave the UK ,he hates Great Britain .

Theresa May was(is) a Remain supporter. This makes her much more likely to be better received than either Johnson or Gove when it comes to face to face negotiations concerning Britain's position with the EU. Clearly, they cannot actually hate her as much as the others.

I was a Boris fan, in that he can be extremely inspirational. This quality alone can make him an exceptionally good leader. Now politics is an exceedingly dirty business. A good example of this is how Gove is now saying Boris 'can't do it' in his opinion and so he is going to put his own hat into the ring. Was Gove's wife's e-mail slip a cunning stunt? Yup! I think it was. I dare bet Boris couldn't give Gove his required Immigration Numbers Limits. Well, no one can, IMHO. But it did give Gove the 'get out' he needed to go forward on his own.

Well I don't think Boris could 'do it' without Gove at his side to add the necessary credibility. But would Gove be better than Boris? I doubt it.

I do find it interesting to watch the leadership contest proceedings and witness very little coming from the Boris camp. He is obviously fighting hard behind the scene to garner support. With so many people now standing against him, it would appear he is having some difficulty getting it.

I think Liam Fox has a spoiled past. So, all in all, I now think we are going to see Theresa May win the contest and become the next Prime Minister.

jimmy b - 30 Jun 2016 10:43 - 72084 of 81564

I think it will be between May and Gove.

ExecLine - 30 Jun 2016 10:45 - 72085 of 81564

I see my MP, Andrea Leadsom, is going to have a go.

Theresa can surely easily beat her by offering Andrea an extremely senior position in the cabinet. My money would be on Andrea Leadsom being appointed Chancellor.

Imagine that! Two women running things. Hmmm?

jimmy b - 30 Jun 2016 11:04 - 72086 of 81564

I liked her during the debates .

Haystack - 30 Jun 2016 11:58 - 72087 of 81564

Boris NOT standing, but Gove is.

Haystack - 30 Jun 2016 12:03 - 72088 of 81564

Looks like Theresa May and Hilary Clinton

Haystack - 30 Jun 2016 12:10 - 72089 of 81564

Therese May is 2 to 1 ON
Gove is about 3 to 1 AGAINST

ExecLine - 30 Jun 2016 12:12 - 72090 of 81564

Stephen Crabb
Liam Fox
Michael Gove
Andrea Leadsom
Theresa May

Votes to be held every Tuesday and Thursday until we get the final two.

After a couple of weeks, I think Theresa May will emerge as the winner.

Fred1new - 30 Jun 2016 12:12 - 72091 of 81564

he can be extremely inspirational.

So were Stalin and Hitler to some.

It depends on where and to what the "leaders" are is inspiring to lead and what the casualties will be on the way.

Fred1new - 30 Jun 2016 12:12 - 72092 of 81564

.

jimmy b - 30 Jun 2016 12:14 - 72093 of 81564

Thicko ,it won't be anything you like that's for sure.

grannyboy - 30 Jun 2016 12:21 - 72094 of 81564

Well if it is May, the voters in the street won't vote for her..

Haystack - 30 Jun 2016 12:23 - 72095 of 81564

They certainly won't vote for Gove. He is toxic after being Education Secretary.

I hope Boris supports May as revenge for Gove stabbing him in the bac.

Haystack - 30 Jun 2016 12:58 - 72096 of 81564

May has said she is no longer in favour of pulling out of ECHR.

Fred1new - 30 Jun 2016 13:09 - 72097 of 81564

Boris would be like a poisoned chalice if he supported anybody other than himself.

ECHR.

Common sense is beginning to rein.

Haystack - 30 Jun 2016 13:15 - 72098 of 81564

Fox has fallen back to 50 to 1 against

Haystack - 30 Jun 2016 13:19 - 72099 of 81564

It is always the way. You wait for a leadership challenge and two come along at once.

grannyboy - 30 Jun 2016 13:51 - 72100 of 81564

Yes it tells you all you need to know, as if the UK taxpayer dosn't waste
enough money on things like paying to be members of the EU, and What the
ECHR cost the taxpayer, in Constant court cases in efforts to get rid of
terrorist, thieves rapist. etc, etc, etc, etc...

Appeal after appeal after appeal... And in most cases the government still lose.

And T. May dosn't wan't to leave the ECHR....Shocking!!
