Cheers Hil-tops - I had noticed the journal, but I always blame me first, on account of the fact that it's usually the way :S
I shall get fiddling then ;)

Updated my second ODL MT4 platform without issue today - that's using the 'not free' Avast antivirus as my scanning service.
Agree about ODL - really struggling today.

This is from Google Chrome help. It does work.
"Google Chrome requires Java version 6, update 10. Please note that this is currently a beta version and may be more unstable than some previous version of Java. To download this beta version of Java, visit"

Seymour,
My ODL hasn't live updated to Build 218 yet, but my McAfee scan reported a Gobi virus in my Alpari Build 218.
This link on the Metaquotes website explains more.

I'm a customer of the Computer Doctors in Northampton. Most months they send out a link to their online Newsletter. It's in PDF format and you can of course, save the download or even parts of it, if you like.
Here's a link to their September Newsletter:
http://www.computerdoctors.uk.net/newsletter/NL0809.pdf
There's a particularly interesting section in the Newsletter about using a Sandbox.
On their main site there is also an Archive of previous Newsletters and quite a good shopper searching link too. I sometimes use this when I'm wanting stuff or ideas but I also do like to use Google's Shopping link too.

Thanks Hil, I had a feeling that would be the case. I'll have to restore the file to its rightful place now!

Oh I meant to say ... I couldn't untick anything in the Spybot SD resident thingie the other day. So sites are still a bit slow on the upload.
On the other hand, in the last week or two, I know of at least 3 people, including Mr Grumpy, who have had to deal with naughty Trojan attacks, inspite of router firewalls, McAfee, AVG and I can't remember what else.
Anyway, the other thing is, I want another stand-alone jobbie (alongside my 'orrible Vista). Any suggestions please? As in simple?

Tell Mr Grumpy not to open emails with attachments, getting plenty of dangerous ones here every day.

No it wasn't that - on one of my rare visits to work (as in today) he showed me. It was a simple product search on Google last week, very nasty. The other 2 were friends, one of whom I would imagine was via email, apparently half of UKOnline was affected by the Philippines. He's registered privately now.

Why people live with all these attacks I really don't know, why don't you just get a Mac and have done with It?

'cos if nearly everyone had Macs the virus writers would start writing them for Macs...
