Mel - is this your daughter's first job?

Apologies for not keeping track - we are in the midst of fairly major building works and I haven't been on the pc much (partly ue to having no broadband for a week - I told AOL I was moving & they cut me off 2 weeks early)

Melnibone - 01 Feb 2007 16:21 - 7275 of 11056

No, Sue, not by a long way.

She was very successful, and well known, in a totally different field.
But then leukemia and a bone marrow transplant turned everything
on it's head.

Whilst recovering, she went back to university and got her degree, which
she'd put on hold whilst pursuing her dream.
She's now back in the picture, attacking new goals with all guns blazing. :-)

Got stopped out +20. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick :-)

chocolat - 02 Feb 2007 13:05 - 7277 of 11056

Cable has to break 1.9730s for me not to think short, for today anyway ;) and 1.9760s to have another crack at 1.99.

MightyMicro - 02 Feb 2007 14:34 - 7278 of 11056

Choco: IMHO, it won't do it. Your conventional wisdom says a break above 1.9751 is your bull thingie. It's had a poke towards it, though . . .

chocolat - 02 Feb 2007 17:13 - 7279 of 11056

Guess that's why I'm short again Dezza :)
I've come to rely on NFPs and revisions doing the biz.

foale - 02 Feb 2007 17:45 - 7280 of 11056

I have to say agree with Choccy...short to 1.9520-50 area...then re think...
the recent highs (1.9740-50) just getting smacked...

Its certainly not clear cut though

foale - 05 Feb 2007 09:20 - 7281 of 11056

still lookng for that down...move

Harlosh - 05 Feb 2007 10:17 - 7282 of 11056

I'm looking at the 9520 area - anyone else?

foale - 05 Feb 2007 10:40 - 7283 of 11056

see you down there...I hope

mg - 05 Feb 2007 10:47 - 7284 of 11056

Got an order in to open long @ 9530 - that 8 hour support - if it goes then ooopsi

mg - 05 Feb 2007 11:26 - 7285 of 11056

Ah - I also had a possible turn @ 9560ish - at the bottom of an 8 hour channel I'd drawn - but didn't trust it - could have made a few there.

Still watching - but beginning to become a bit indecisive - sort of, well I think I am, but then again I might not be............

mg - 05 Feb 2007 13:16 - 7286 of 11056

Well, probably a bit too decisive, have entered a small long at 19560 - I've left the other one to trigger if it gets down to 30ish

Harlosh - 05 Feb 2007 15:59 - 7287 of 11056

Nice trading mg - took my profit on the short but as I have been out missed the long, though have we seen the bottom? I'm not sure.

Melnibone - 05 Feb 2007 20:24 - 7288 of 11056

Evening.
Still suffering a bit here from the dreaded lurgy. Can't actually remember
eating any Bernard Matthews turkey, so it can't be that ;-)

No news on the Miss Mel job front as yet. Certainly drag this stuff out,
don't they?

Just been doing a bit of low key scalping whilst waiting direction for a position
trade. Much the same as everyone else, I suspect. Still hoping for a position
trade short in the Bund, but it keeps taking out resistances just when I think
it's peaked. You guys seem to be having the same problem with your
Dollar crosses if I'm reading you correctly.

I've put the following together, showing what I'm looking at, to try and keep my
end up and not just lurk.

Melnibone - 05 Feb 2007 20:27 - 7289 of 11056

Can't remember who suggested it to me, MM? DocProc?
But I've installed FireFox and used it to post the above.
Worked great and I didn't keep getting those annoying
messages to allow temp script boxes as per IE7.

Thanks for the suggestion, who ever it was. :-))

cynic - 05 Feb 2007 20:35 - 7290 of 11056

Agree that it is certainly right to short at +/-1.95 though you may need to hold medium/long term

gold
Very choppy market at the monent with no obvious direction .... shall probably stay out unless price comes back to say 642

Melnibone - 05 Feb 2007 21:10 - 7291 of 11056

Showing here what I've been looking at on the Bund.
As posted last week, I missed my entry for a position trade
expecting a bigger bounce to take out stops. (Glad I did
miss it now).

Interested on any views that are looking at this differently
according to the different style and criteria you use.
(We all trade a little differently.)

mg - 06 Feb 2007 08:14 - 7292 of 11056

Still in from 19560 and 19540 from yesterday. Stops moved up to 90 whilst it's moving in the right direction. MACD 60 looking OK for the moment so hoping for the long to be the right trade. However, I reckon 645/50 could be resistance. If that goes then we could be looking at 690ish. Alternatively, back to 550 for support :(

chocolat - 06 Feb 2007 11:51 - 7293 of 11056

Joined you this morning meggers.
Cable fell a few points shy of my stop yesterday so I closed later (1.9557) as it recovered and wrestled with one of my down slopey lines. Through another one this morning, which is where I'm in (1.9623) and now it's broken through a rising resistance line I have (1.9660s) after a bit of mid-morning mucking about. I'm guessing at further resistance just above 1.97 - and if we get through that then I'm up for somewhere close to 1.98 :)
