THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Just watching Corbyn come out of his house yet again on my TV News and 'dodging the yellow rose bush' yet again. It's quite near to his front door and very much 'in the way'.

He dodges past it every time he comes out of his house - but he can't seem to even recognise something needs to be done about it. Anybody else notice this?

What a twit this bloke is!

What was the point of the referendum?

We'll have to see what happens after May visits Merkel and Hollande too , will there be a softening and different wording from May after .

jimmy b - 20 Jul 2016 08:11 - 72744 of 81564

They will lose the next election ,they must know that.

VICTIM - 20 Jul 2016 08:18 - 72745 of 81564

I suppose also if you don't have targets effectively you can't fail to meet them can you .

MaxK - 20 Jul 2016 08:44 - 72746 of 81564

Im sure the (disenfranchised) tory party membership are fully behind the unelected party leader and all her works.

cynic - 20 Jul 2016 08:48 - 72747 of 81564

TM may be unelected by the tory party membership, but i live in reasonable hope that she'll do a good to even very good job as pm

MaxK - 20 Jul 2016 09:15 - 72748 of 81564

Why?

cynic - 20 Jul 2016 09:23 - 72749 of 81564

because she looks to have a clear idea of direction and strength of character to take us along that route

Dil - 20 Jul 2016 09:27 - 72750 of 81564

Went to my eldest daughters graduation yesterday (she got a first in accountancy). Lovely day but about 10 degrees too hot. What fascinated me was the number of overseas students graduating , mainly Asians , must have been around 60% of the accountancy students and they have to pay around £20k per year for the course and most of their parents had flown over for the event !

Dil - 20 Jul 2016 09:30 - 72751 of 81564

Thinking about it my daughter was one of the overseas students cos we had to cross the Severn Bridge to get there :-)

Haystack - 20 Jul 2016 09:40 - 72752 of 81564

May will win next GE with a huge majority

jimmy b - 20 Jul 2016 09:44 - 72753 of 81564

Haystack ,not if they have huge immigration come 2020 that's a fact .

cynic - 20 Jul 2016 09:54 - 72754 of 81564

tories may well win the next GE, but whether on merit or by default because the labour party is seen as a total disaster with hard-left corbyn at the helm
time and actuality will tell

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2016 09:55 - 72755 of 81564

Dil,

Congratulate your daughter.

You will have to ask her for help!

jimmy b - 20 Jul 2016 10:00 - 72756 of 81564

By 2020 you would think the Labour party would have sorted its self out ,we need a strong opposition , so i hope that's the case . If we are lied to (whatever Haystack thinks) they will not win a GE ,you will also get huge votes from various regions of the UK for UKIP .

VICTIM - 20 Jul 2016 10:04 - 72757 of 81564

Labour may have split by then and could call themselves New Labour , or something .

cynic - 20 Jul 2016 10:08 - 72758 of 81564

one day you'll admit to yourself that all politicians lie to a greater or lesser extent regardless of party
there is no question that parliament and the country deserve a credible opposition regardless of who is holding the reins
viewed dispassionately, corbyn is clearly not a man cut out to be a leader ..... his pathetic support of "remain" which was the clear wish of the labour party, says it all

Haystack - 20 Jul 2016 10:26 - 72759 of 81564

The immigration will be the same as now. It will take years to control it. They have removed the specific targets as they are currently impossible. May will still win if immigration is the same as now.
