THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

media spin or fair comment?

May's first PMQs and she wipes the floor with Corbyn

Haystack - 20 Jul 2016 17:02 - 72777 of 81564

Have you seen it. Lucky for him that it was last until autumn. It was vicious.

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2016 17:04 - 72778 of 81564

Sums it up!

And the cons indulged in it.

VICTIM - 20 Jul 2016 17:06 - 72779 of 81564

Where's Dave and George sitting now at PMQs are they together somewhere sticking pins in little dolls .

Haystack - 20 Jul 2016 17:07 - 72780 of 81564

George was at the back. I think Cameron wasn't there today.

cynic - 20 Jul 2016 17:23 - 72781 of 81564

so now fred complains that corbyn showed himself to be woefully inadequate!
i wonder what he would have commented had the reverse been true

Haystack - 20 Jul 2016 17:28 - 72782 of 81564

Cynic
Here is one of the exchanges, perhaps the worst.

Haystack - 20 Jul 2016 18:03 - 72783 of 81564

Numerous reports of wealthy individuals paying for people to sign up and vote for Corbyn at £25 a time. People on social media saying, "I have just been given £25 if I vote for Corbyn. Labour hardship fund being used as well (7,050 paid for yesterday and today).

This looks to be of dubious legality.

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2016 18:21 - 72784 of 81564

Manuel,

I was observing, not complaining.

I doubt that Corbyn would have behaved in the same manner as May.

For me, it showed the real values of May and her camp followers.

Perhaps, yours as well.

Haystack - 20 Jul 2016 19:10 - 72785 of 81564

As Theresa May took to the despatch box one couldn’t help but notice her husband Philip beaming down with pride from the peers’ gallery above. Ah, now that’s when we’ve seen this one before! It was thirty years ago and back then another Prime Minister’s husband watched a grammar school girl from the provinces who went on to Oxford rip apart a shabbily dressed, white haired old lefty.

cynic - 20 Jul 2016 19:26 - 72786 of 81564

the great exchange has been on the news ..... it was almost like a club tennis player vs andy murray ..... am amazed no squawks about political bias but what a pathetic performance from corbyn

=============

perhaps fred you would care to watch the news and observe for yourself corbyn's performance, and then explain what makes him such a strong leader of the opposition .... and of course how he will manage to woo the voting public sufficiently to get him into Number 10

Fred1new - 20 Jul 2016 20:00 - 72787 of 81564

Manuel,

Corbyn seems to be your problem, not mine.

Perhaps, he believes that he represents more than the leaders of a thiefdom.

Perhaps, some of the public recognises that he is more honest than the rabble facing him, while others are frightened by his honesty.

By the way, perhaps May was reflecting on her party's own standards.

Forgot, she is the daughter of a vicar.

As you would consider yourself to be an opportunist, I am sure you wouldn't align yourself with Corbyn.

-=-=-=-=

When playing games and on various committees, I always found those who boasts the least tended to be the most dangerous.

Stop boasting!

Haze.

I hope Cruella won't do as much damage to society as the witch.

How many lives did she sacrifice on the Belgrano?

Something to be proud of.

and fred goes on his customary evasive defense .... pah!

there is a definite whiff of manipulation or coercion in the sudden surge in labour party membership
was not similar seen when JC first came up for election?

MaxK - 21 Jul 2016 08:45 - 72793 of 81564

Indeed, lots of new proles coming out of the woodwork...a good thing surely?

But what of the Nu tory party, are they still haemorrhaging members?

cynic - 21 Jul 2016 08:50 - 72794 of 81564

no idea ..... i guess many are like me and just didn't bother to renew several years back

Fred1new - 21 Jul 2016 08:51 - 72795 of 81564

Nothing like the orchestrations by the tory party's masters, ie. the Mail, Telegraph, Express, Times. (The mouthpieces of puppet controllers.)
