sorry, but i only work with CFDs and IG do not offer "normal" broking services - but i could ask a mate of mine there if you want ..... what sort of service do you want - e.g. advisory? transaction only?

That's OK Cynic - I was just looking for a cheap and cheerful (and reliable and honest) transaction broker - but it'll be a while before I open an account anyway so don't bother your mate

features, Execution only.

remember the adage - what's cheap is often very expensive

Void - Have a look at Sippdeal. They've recently extended their services to include dealing accounts. 9.95 a trade.

Good to see you back, Void.
JPJ may be cheap, but that does not mean anything, as
one of the posters here has implied.
JP Jenkins has been around for a long time and many
people will know of him, if they have heard of OFEX stocks.
Some people may have objections to dealing with an offshore
brokerage. I can understand their reservations, but the
service they offer for buy and sell beats that of
many well established names I know and have dealt with.
No frills, execution only.
Depends what one wants. Ultimately, one is buying or
selling the same stocks for the price of an ordinary
bottle of vino rosso. If all one wants to do is buy
and sell or hold for a while, they are worth looking at.
Why pay more! Get an extra bottle of the red stuff
with the savings. BOGOF!
I have no personal connection, so this is not a plug.
Being offshore, they do not offer ISA accounts.

I'm using the share centre www.share.com. I've tried many in the past and have been with them the longest of all and am still a satisfied customer :-)
Thanks for this thread btw
