THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

And Fred what the f..k has that got to do with what is going on in Europe ?
You just don't want to admit there is a problem .

mentor - 26 Jul 2016 13:17 - 72856 of 81564

Fred

Your post was British accidents on sporadic times and when IRA was active, my idea was World wide and happening
almost every day and done by ordinary people

jimmy b - 26 Jul 2016 13:29 - 72857 of 81564

Fred forgot the Battle of Hastings 1066 .

After the French murder of the church's priest, is the Pope going to ask for a Crusade against Islam?

Fred1new - 26 Jul 2016 13:37 - 72859 of 81564

Mentor,

Check the World figures as well.

Start with America from 1900.

jimmy b - 26 Jul 2016 13:50 - 72860 of 81564

Due to so many attacks going on in Europe daily , Fred has taken to looking at figures of attacks world wide (committed by anyone) since 1900 to deflect what's happening ,i suppose it's something you don't want to admit .
And you call me dumbo Jeez !

Here use this to sweep it under the carpet

Jeremy Corbyn would lose 44 seats for Labour, new polling suggests

Although Labour leads among 18 to 34-year-olds, the Conservatives hold a big advantage among over-35s, and are a staggering 35 points ahead of Labour with pensioners.

iturama - 26 Jul 2016 15:10 - 72862 of 81564

So what? There won't be a general election until 2020. Despite the gap, labour has somehow managed to maintain itself in by-elections.

Haystack - 26 Jul 2016 15:16 - 72863 of 81564

There could well be an election sooner if the polls continue in this manner.

VICTIM - 26 Jul 2016 15:28 - 72864 of 81564

And if the result doesn't go your way apparently you ask for another election , the media will help too just non stop programs reflecting on what should have been and people may have changed their minds in the meantime .

iturama - 26 Jul 2016 15:29 - 72865 of 81564

Do keep up Hays. What have the polls got to do with it?

Section 2 of the Fixed Term Parliament Act provides for two ways in which a general election can be held before the end of the five-year period:

- If the House of Commons resolves "That this House has no confidence in Her Majesty's Government", an early general election is held, unless the House of Commons subsequently resolves "That this House has confidence in Her Majesty's Government". This second resolution must be made within fourteen days of the first.
- If the House of Commons, with the support of two-thirds of its total membership (including vacant seats), resolves "That there shall be an early parliamentary general election".

None of the the two scenarios are likely, polls or not. In fact, the worse the polls for any main group, the less likely a general election.

grannyboy - 26 Jul 2016 15:29 - 72866 of 81564

Unless there's a huge diversion from the Tory manifesto, then there is a
fixed 5 year parliament.

A Labour donor is in court today i believe, and is trying to get a ruling to
say Corbyn shouldn't be put on the leader candidate list without getting the
51 MP's to back him, Corbyn said if he lost he would look to have the contest
suspended, because having just one candidate(Owen Smith) would be a farce.

cynic - 26 Jul 2016 17:24 - 72867 of 81564

none of it shows the labour party in a good light
perhaps that is the militant unions' sub-plot

Haystack - 26 Jul 2016 18:13 - 72868 of 81564

If Corbyn loses the case then he will have get nominated. That will mean the nomination process being rerun. Then moderates such as Yvette Cooper, Burnham will be on ballot and Corbyn will fail to get 51 nominations.

Mrs Balls-up tells it how it is ....

Labour was formed as the party of the worker. But we’ve forgotten who that is
