THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Had some of the old NHS stuff yesterday.

Absolutely excellent standards of care prior to, during and after the procedure (this revealed all is OK). The hospital department concerned are even phoning me at home today to check I'm OK after having it done.

From initial tests to consulation: 2 weeks.
From consulation to procedure: 1 week.

Marks out of 10? 10.

must have been quite serious, and if so, there is (rarely) any difference in the quality of care or capability of consultant whether NHS or private

labour party shambles
i note that this fellow smith is adopting a fistful of corbyn's radical proposals in an attempt to woo the new militants who have just joined up

heaven help us all even if even half were ever enacted, as we'ld then be back in the dark days when the militant unions pretty much ran the country and there was no incentive to create wealth or to better oneself

Forward to the past comrades!

We can laugh, but it's serious...no effective opposition to the tories. Not good!

The court case brought by a Labour donor on whether Corbyn should
be put on leadership list, which started the other day is expected to
deliver their verdict today.

Judge decided that Corbyn can stay on ballot. That's good news. We can now have the entertainment of Labour tearing itself apart.

The case may be appealed

Supreme Court blocks SNP's controversial 'named person' scheme

By Auslan Cramb, Scottish Correspondent
28 July 2016 • 12:12pm

The Scottish Government has suffered a humiliating defeat in the UK’s highest court after its controversial “state guardian” scheme was ruled unlawful.

The judgment emphasises the importance of article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights - on the right to a private and family life - and in a withering passage states:

"The first thing that a totalitarian regime tries to do is to get to the children, to distance them from the subversive, varied influences of their families, and indoctrinate them in their rulers’ view of the world. Within limits, families must be left to bring up their children in their own way.”

Two men have been jailed for 4 years for smuggling immigrants into UK.

Well we're seeing some Justice at last..It's to be hoped those immigrants that
were smuggled into the country illegally are deported forthwith, with NO lengthy
appeals.
