Joined you this morning meggers.
Cable fell a few points shy of my stop yesterday so I closed later (1.9557) as it recovered and wrestled with one of my down slopey lines. Through another one this morning, which is where I'm in (1.9623) and now it's broken through a rising resistance line I have (1.9660s) after a bit of mid-morning mucking about. I'm guessing at further resistance just above 1.97 - and if we get through that then I'm up for somewhere close to 1.98 :)

mg - 06 Feb 2007 12:49 - 7294 of 11056

Nice one chocciepoos. I closed my 540 for 150 points and the other one's floating free - raised the stop to 630. I've got the next rising resistance around 745/50 (if it can drag it's arse through 9700). It went through what I had as a critical point - crossover rising/falling resistance - which was around 9680 - but I'm not convinced it'll hold. We'll see.

Maybe I'm getting the hang of this again - doesn't help when I've still got day jobbies getting in the way - but a lot less than last year :)

chocolat - 06 Feb 2007 13:24 - 7295 of 11056

Mmmm 1.9707 on the nose :))
We up for more, meggers? ;)

mg - 06 Feb 2007 13:31 - 7296 of 11056

Oh yes - waiting for it to come back a bit. If it behaves then we could see a retrace to 675/80 according to my lineywines. BTW closed the 560 for 140 points - now got nothing on (what a thought - not one you should dwell on if I was you).

chocolat - 06 Feb 2007 13:37 - 7297 of 11056

Not while I'm still eating my bacon buttie ;)

mg - 06 Feb 2007 14:29 - 7298 of 11056

Hope I didn't make you choke on it :)

Been out so missed the chance to open at 75 - will leave it a bit to see if I get another chance - thereagain I might just go and have a bacan sarnie - you've got me salivating now - and I've had a good couple of days - mustn't get greedy.

hodgins - 06 Feb 2007 20:06 - 7299 of 11056

Mel, Eurobund setting up for a sell?
Would it have been neckline projection down and support line that curtailed previous drop?
Currently sitting around next resistance on way up so ready to break out up or turn around down again. ECB on Thursday likely to influence?

Melnibone - 07 Feb 2007 12:04 - 7300 of 11056

Hi Hodgins, thanks for reply.
Agreed, Trichet's comments this week may very will be what the market
is waiting on.

To my mind, the Bund has changed (is changing?) from multi year trend
of rising price (Lower Yield), to a trend of falling prices (higher yield).
They've already had a good drop, so maybe we'll enter a sideways
volatile range for a while whilst sentiment firms and profits get trousered.

The 114.6 area was the support the market was looking to break, and, as you
say, it was near the H&S target area and held. So looks like maybe a spell of
news driven ranging.
Will need to watch the US 10yr Bond, I feel, to see what happens if/ when
it hits its multi-year falling yield trendline that I've sometimes been highlighting.

I quite often get ahead of myself and take a cyclical loss whilst watching
the secular trend. :-(

mg - 08 Feb 2007 08:51 - 7301 of 11056

Got some of the short but have reversed to long @ 660 - but I think I'm whistling in the wind. Stronger chance of a turn I've actually got at around 630 - so why have I traded - good question - for which I don't have an answer ..... except that I had 666 as a possible support - and I'm a bit of a devil Z:(

mg - 08 Feb 2007 09:44 - 7302 of 11056

Out of that trade for a few points - better go and have a lie down.

mg - 08 Feb 2007 10:09 - 7303 of 11056

Oooooops - premature withdrawl again.....back to bed :)

Next stop 1.9550s or cable's goosed.
8 hourly's critical and the daily ain't looking too hot.

mg - 08 Feb 2007 12:35 - 7306 of 11056

choccies
Agreed - and if 550 doesn't hold I've got about 470. [EDIT - looking @ the Daily it could be more like 275 ......]

A bit fed up really cos I pulled both the short and long too early - always did have a problem judging the spot :0

chocolat - 08 Feb 2007 12:45 - 7307 of 11056

Close enough meggers :)
Currently got 1.9460s
And yes - the daily's been telling me that since we tested 1.95 last week.

Well at least you had a good kip :)

bosley - 08 Feb 2007 13:35 - 7308 of 11056

does it have to be this complicated?

or am i being a bit thick?

mg - 08 Feb 2007 14:03 - 7309 of 11056

Had a long open trigger @ 570 - just to see whether the support would hold. Very tight stop on it cos it may just keep on falling.

mg - 08 Feb 2007 14:29 - 7310 of 11056

bosley - I like his style - a successful, well planned, LOSS. A man after my own heart. Actually I found it quite interesting - think I'd better go and have another lie down.

Moved my stop up to entry - so it'll be a successful, well planned, zero gain :)

[Got another long to open @ 550 - with another tight stop.]

bosley - 08 Feb 2007 14:40 - 7311 of 11056

mg, there's lots of them !! (to be said in a dustin hoffman in rainman type way ).

i find his videos very interesting but they look so damn complicated !

don't know why but this guy makes me smile.

chocolat - 08 Feb 2007 14:40 - 7312 of 11056

I was nodding off after 6 minutes, bos ;)
Meggers' horizontalness is catching :S
