Superscape (SPS) has received various tips in the press and by Analysts recently which will certainly give impetous to the share price. Indicators are looking good with the RSI rising off an oversold position and the MACD crossing showing BULLISH signs for the stock.

The mobile gaming market is still in it's infancy but the projected revenue is enormous. Mobile operators are looking at tapping the Gameboy market as they feel that users will not want to carry around a multitude of technology and if they have a mobile phone which can double as a gaming station than people will prefer this option.

People should also look at the recent contracts which SPS have signed for their technology. This is a technology company which could well be a great success in 2004.

ELSPA ANNOUNCES NEW MOBILE GAMES CHART
As mobile phone gaming becomes ever more popular, ELSPA (Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association) today announced the launch of its brand new chart reflecting the nations favourite games to play on the go.

ELSPA, which issues its Official UK Leisure Software Charts compiled by Chart-Track for PC and console games software on a weekly basis, has initiated this new monthly chart in response to the lack of official, reliable data on mobile games sales. It is anticipated the chart will enable the industry to gauge market performance in a previously unmonitored area, as well as providing consumers with a method of choosing and tracking the top games.

The chart will be based upon the sales figures for Java downloads, supplied initially by the four key mobile operators: O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. It is estimated that they currently command approximately 80 percent of the mobile games download market.

Simon Dean, Head of Games, O2 commented, This marks the beginning of a new era of cooperation and openness between operators. The chart reflects the increased penetration of mobile games with consumers, and demonstrates the mobile games network becoming a unified area of the gaming industry. We are delighted to be a part of it.

THQ posts fourth-quarter profit

LOS ANGELES, May 5 (Reuters) - Video game publisher THQ Inc. (THQI) on Wednesday posted a fourth-quarter profit, compared with a year-earlier loss, on continued strong sales of its holiday games lineup and the new title "MX Unleashed."

Calabasas Hills, California-based THQ posted a net profit of $5.4 million, or 14 cents per share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $7.7 million, or 20 cents per share. Revenue rose to $123 million from $66.8 million a year earlier.

THQ Wireless Nabs NFL License

THQ Inc. today announced that its wireless games division, THQ Wireless, has reached an agreement with the National Football League (NFL) and PLAYERS INC to develop a new selection of officially licensed mobile content based on the teams and players of the NFL.

"This agreement with the NFL and PLAYERS INC allows THQ to deliver action-packed wireless games that captures the thrill of professional football. Fans everywhere will soon be able to download the highest quality mobile NFL games via their wireless carrier," said Tim Walsh, president of THQ Wireless. "The NFL is one of the premier sports, and THQ is excited to continue our commitment to sports entertainment offerings by bringing this sport to life on mobile phones."

The licensed NFL and PLAYERS INC offerings from THQ Wireless will include a realistic 11-on-11-football simulation featuring all 32 NFL teams with strengths and weaknesses mirroring their real-life counterparts, as well as 900 actual players modeled to perform just as they do in a live game. The game will offer the full 16-game season, the playoffs and the Super Bowl. Throughout the season, statistics will be accumulated in 14 different categories and fans will be able to customize their playbooks. In addition, sophisticated offense and defense AI will allow players to intercept passes, dive for extra yardage, force fumbles and break tackles.

Huge write up in Shares this morning, well done and thanks for having a more in depth look at the figures (scary, someones watching!). Just one point that seems to be missed, it appears that SPS get 2.50 per direct OTA download, I have alos heard that they get $1 to $2.50 per embedded game, put that with the chip royalty and the 10 million handsets by January should push it well into profits, after that the sky is the limit.

SUPERSCAPE AWARDED $1.2M CONTRACT FROM GLOBAL WIRELESS ENTERTAINMENT
Superscape Group plc (LSE: SPS), leaders in revolutionary entertainment for
mobile phones, announces today that it has won a contract, with a value of
$1.2m, to develop a new portfolio of mobile games for Californian-based Global
Wireless Entertainment Inc, (GWE). In addition to the development contract,

The mobile gaming group has announced a further contract. This time it is with Global Wireless Entertainment Inc, (GWE) and unusually for Superscape, it has detailed the contract value at $1.2 million. GWE is an existing relationship for the group, and an important one.

Superscapes technology lead is providing it with the opportunity to approach world leading content owners and offer them a route to additional revenue streams not available anywhere else. Inevitably, this is a window of opportunity which the group has to exploit well as competition will attempt to move in at some point. This is why Kevin Roberts and the sales team are spending much of the time globe trotting converting content owners to customers and ensuring they are locked in. GWE, as brand licensor, already has many of the customers Superscape is seeking, and by partnering with them, it will cut down dramatically the time to market. We are encouraged by GWEs comments that having selected Superscape last year for two titles they were wowed by the incredible results of the games that the deal today involves the payment of $1.2 million to produce more. Superscape and GWE will jointly benefit from the royalties earned from Over the Air downloads and embedded games onto handset sales.

The model is shaping and Superscape feels as if it is slowly converting the cynics to its business model. We recently argued taking a position at 27p and we would happily endorse that view at 34p where they trade this morning

Happy1, will look at the citywire article later but I know that it should be good as they are stronjg supporters. One point that investors are having trouble with, especially on Ample is the licensing revenue. I think that the fundamental difference in the revenue received depends uponif it is an OTA download or embedded on the phone at point of sale. my understanding is that OTS will bring in 2.50 per game, given the cost of premier 2d games, this is completely reasonable. I also believe that when a distributor such as the american distributor sells a swerved game, this will generate a smaller revenue, around $1 to $2.50 per game as they will be mass sold. The point is that the distributors will ensure that every phone has at least on game on, put that with the chip revenues, OTA downloads, etc and the figures imply that SPS could be worth significantly more than some viewers suggest.

The announcement this morning that Superscape has signed a development contract with Global Wireless Entertainment is very positive and confirms that the group is starting to tap into oppo tunities for massmarket revenue streams.

Superscape has announced this morning that it has won a contract with a value of $1.2m to develop a new portfolio of mobile games for Californian based Global Wireless Entertainment Inc. As well as the development contract, the group will also be working with Global Wireless Entertainment to distribute the games to global handset manufacturers and operators, for which Superscape will receive ongoing royalty revenues every time a game is downloaded over the air or supplied direct to a third party. The new games are likely to be based on high-profile IP brands and these titles should be announced over the next few months.

This announcement is very encouraging and cements the groups strategy going forward to focus more on the global wireless sector where the main sources of revenue from the future are likely to come from Swerve content in terms of content licensing fees, up front development and royalty fees. The recent news that the group has signed its first revenue sharing royalty distribution agreement for the company's 3D mobile games with a leading US network operator should also open up opportunities for mass market revenue streams for the group.

The second half of 2004 could be a key turning point for the group with the launch of new BREW devices and where we are likely to see mass availability when Swerve-enabled Java handsets from Siemens, Motorola and other manufacturers start shipping. According to the group, taking both Java and BREW devices together and according to current manufacturer announcements, there are likely to be some ten million Swerve enable handsets in the global market by the end of the groups financial year 2004/05.

Digesting the latest news on wireless, it seems from May 24th this year all Americans across the country can switch their wireless service provider without changing their telephone numbers. From May 24th all large and small wireless service providers, from the national to the regional have to cooperate for the good of the customers; and this in my opinion will encourage more and more Americans to up grade/change their mobiles and keep up grading them; and who's going to want a mobile that does not have all the latest mod cons which includes 3D games. And as we all know Superscape has just annouced an American network deal. So, on top of all the deals the demand for 3G/3D mobiles is going to grow even faster then many have predicted, and the potential for Superscape to benefit from all this is massive. IMHO

It will also have a massive benefit from the Van Helsing craze which uses Superscape technology for download.
