Driver read the thread on the other side and the AGM announcement about the number of hospitals they are now dealing with. The figures were excellent too but as you say with chinese stocks who knows!

cynic - 27 Jul 2007 14:10 - 731 of 934

driver ..... i think you are wise ....... have posted a fairly obvious caveat there and of course been castigated by some little twerp for not promoting a strong buy!

cynic - 27 Jul 2007 16:48 - 732 of 934

strange old day on the markets .... FTSE surprisingly solid, especially in the light of continuing weakness in USA, which is strange in itself given the figures that cam out.

some stocks were surprisingly firm and others the reverse, without apparent rhyme or reason ....... let's hope next week sees a little sanity return

meanwhile, my purchases of DOO and TAN seem to be about right, especially the latter, though arguably should not have bought back into CSR so eagerly two days ago

You do seem to be getting it right, I bought into URA again at the wrong time as per on the hype 8p+ but not worried just annoyed I didnt get more for my money. Still waiting for news on VML looking good and SER and good old GOO.

ZGP
Bought a few of these yesterday on the back of their RNS detailing the latest product. The shares have had a fairly torrid time recently, for no particular reason. I have used their Onspeed product for quite a while now and it works very well for speeding up internet connection, though my broadband connection is much faster these days so I leave it mainly switched off. The ShrinkMyTunes software looks like a sure winner to me, but DYOR of course. The SP, as it would since I bought, has declined but I am tempted to buy more if there is a further fall. Has anyone got a good reason to stop me?!!

London, UK - 26 July 2007 - Z GROUP plc, the AIM listed developer and provider
of leading consumer Internet technologies, announces the launch of
ShrinkMyTunes, a unique compression software that has the capability to
quadruple the storage capacity of iPods, MP3 players and mobile phones.

ShrinkMyTunes' compression of MP3 audio files is achieved through proprietary
encoding and heuristic optimization algorithms developed by former NASA
scientists. This software has been licensed exclusively by Z GROUP for
worldwide distribution. The compressed audio files are compliant with the
industry standard MP3 format and remain in MP3 format after the compression has
taken place. The software works seamlessly with iTunes and any MP3 player and
takes under a minute to compress each track.

Jamie True, Joint CEO of Z GROUP, said:

'ShrinkMyTunes addresses important and specific needs for anyone with a music
collection and will be particularly popular with owners of iPod minis and
shuffles, as well as new iPhone customers. There are currently over 11 million
people in the UK alone that own an MP3 player and this sector is continuing to
experience high growth. We are very proud to be the first and only company to
bring such an innovative, useful and affordable software product to consumers
worldwide. ShrinkMyTunes builds on Z GROUP's success of delivering
award-winning compression software that started with our ONSPEED product.'

ShrinkMyTunes will be available for 19.99 from
www.shrinkmytunes.com

"Shrink my tunes? ..... perhaps they also offer for wives, ""Shrink his testicles, for his cock is small enough already""

kimoldfield - 27 Jul 2007 19:17 - 736 of 934

You've been talking to my wife Cynic?!

cynic - 27 Jul 2007 20:14 - 737 of 934

not exactly, but the rumour was indeed posted on a BB!

kimoldfield - 30 Jul 2007 16:28 - 738 of 934

Blimey, ZGP are even better than I thought.....look how they've shrunk the SP!! :oD

(Russia)

Now that Russian explorers have dived to the bottom of the Arctic Ocean and planted a Russian flag directly under the North Pole, there is little else that can be done to extract any hydrocarbons that could be found beneath the seabed. It was a good publicity stunt but there is little international bickering about the claim only sour grapes. Perhaps a barber pole and a few other treaty nation flags should make the wine more drinkable. !!!

Apparently this was all based on a misunderstanding when Bush told Putin to stick his flag where the sun don't shine. : )

no commentator will ever tell you to abandon ship or jump off the bridge!

SECRUOSER - 10 Aug 2007 10:52 - 742 of 934

Take a look at GAR.

Profit-making company with a tiny market cap on low PER.

It's a classic recovery story. Next results in first week of September and they have already announced that they will be ahead of expectations.

Well below the radar.

The stock is really tight though. The vast majority seems to be owned by Directors and other tightly-held long term investors. This of course means it can quickly move very far on any buying pressure!

driver - 10 Aug 2007 17:08 - 743 of 934

smiler
Nice one.

SECRUOSER
Looks interesting with a good rise today 25% up.

driver - 16 Aug 2007 13:30 - 744 of 934

All my shares today bar one.

SECRUOSER - 16 Aug 2007 13:36 - 745 of 934

The one riser will be Sefton presumably?

driver - 16 Aug 2007 13:37 - 746 of 934

Yes good old SER comes good on a day of destruction typical.

Johnny wanted to have sex with a girl in his office,
but she belonged to someone else...

One day, Johnny got so frustrated that he went up to
her and said, "I'll give you a $100 if you let me
screw you. But the girl said NO.

Johnny said, "I'll be fast. I'll throw the money on
the floor, you bend down, and I'll be finished by the
time you pick it up. "

She thought for a moment and said that she would have
to consult her boyfriend... So she called her
boyfriend and told him the story.

Her boyfriend says, "Ask him for $200, pick up the
money very fast, he won't even be able to get his
pants down."

So she agrees and accepts the proposal. Half an hour
goes by, and the boyfriend is waiting for his
girlfriend to call.

Finally, after 45 minutes, the boyfriend calls and
asks what happened.

She responded, "The bastard used coins!"

Management lesson:

Always consider a business proposal
in its entirety before agreeing to it and getting screwed!

kimoldfield - 16 Aug 2007 16:49 - 749 of 934

Nice one Smiler!

SER is also my only blue share today. Still, lots of bargains to be had now, which ones though? and when? Will I be on a beach in the sun somewhere when it happens? Will I have enough money left to get to the beach by the end of the month? How long is a piece of string?
