THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Owen's stand on Brexit makes him as unelectable as Corbyn.

Doesn't he realise it was core Labour voters in Wales and the north of England who effectively swung the vote in favour of leaving ?

Why aren't there any sensible Labour MP's putting themselves forward for leader ?

iturama - 24 Aug 2016 09:45 - 73196 of 81564

Anyone that calls this a Labour Leadership contest should be sued under the Trade Descriptions Act. Smith seems out to out-loony Corbyn and is succeeding. Might as well stick a rosette on a donkey's ass.

Fred1new - 24 Aug 2016 09:52 - 73197 of 81564

or vote for the neo-cons?

Good to see you coming around to a sensible decision Fred.

Labour reacts to Corbyn's antics on the Virgin train by calling Richard Branson a 'tax exile laughing all the way to the bank at taxpayers' expense'.
Another case of trying to shoot the messenger.
Now I am no great fan of Richard Branson but he has more gumption, and has created more jobs, than all that Islington crowd could ever dream of.
He has earned the right to live wherever he pleases.

VICTIM - 24 Aug 2016 10:37 - 73200 of 81564

Yes it's Virgin on the rediculous now iturama .

Remember the days when we talked up Asos? £1 by Christmas! Which junior is the next Asos?
And whatever happened to Eric Robson? A nice poster and clearly a nice man. Maybe he eventually went to live in Canada. He often visited.

jimmy b - 24 Aug 2016 12:43 - 73203 of 81564

My ASOS story is a sad one , i bought a large chunk for 59.5p and sold for a few pennies higher as they were not moving much , i still have the contract note somewhere ,2005 i think .

One of the reasons the USA does so well in medals is that the whole team of Basketball etc are counted as gold medal numbers. Brazil got 18 golds for winning the football.

iturama - 24 Aug 2016 14:06 - 73205 of 81564

The medals are tallied by the event, not the numbers in the team. While all that competed in a team event, including the preliminary rounds, may be awarded a medal, they are not added together for medal table purposes. You are flat wrong Hays.

VICTIM - 24 Aug 2016 15:30 - 73206 of 81564

Yes because we won the womens hockey and only registered 1 gold remember , otherwise .

cynic - 24 Aug 2016 16:05 - 73207 of 81564
