THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

My ASOS story is a sad one , i bought a large chunk for 59.5p and sold for a few pennies higher as they were not moving much , i still have the contract note somewhere ,2005 i think .

One of the reasons the USA does so well in medals is that the whole team of Basketball etc are counted as gold medal numbers. Brazil got 18 golds for winning the football.

iturama - 24 Aug 2016 14:06 - 73205 of 81564

The medals are tallied by the event, not the numbers in the team. While all that competed in a team event, including the preliminary rounds, may be awarded a medal, they are not added together for medal table purposes. You are flat wrong Hays.

VICTIM - 24 Aug 2016 15:30 - 73206 of 81564

Yes because we won the womens hockey and only registered 1 gold remember , otherwise .

cynic - 24 Aug 2016 16:05 - 73207 of 81564

cycling teams would bring in a hatful too

Or a pint .

aldwickk - 26 Aug 2016 14:31 - 73210 of 81564

Nigel Farage going to America and standing on the same platform has Trump was absolute madness. After he and most of his supporters and all the media told Obama to keep his nose out of our Referendum. What the hell made him do it , why wasn't he advised not to.

VICTIM - 26 Aug 2016 15:18 - 73211 of 81564

I know what you mean aldwickk they get into some silly situations all of them , if they just sat down and assessed what their objectives are and then what not to do . Guess they can't STFU .

cynic - 26 Aug 2016 15:22 - 73212 of 81564

he's a knobhead and has lost a great deal of any credibility and respect he might have had

jimmy b - 26 Aug 2016 16:46 - 73213 of 81564

He is not a knobhead ,the man got us out of the rotten corrupt EU , however i did cringe when i saw him take the stage ,there was no need to do that it will give him a racist slant which he actually is not. Shame .

Haystack - 26 Aug 2016 17:01 - 73214 of 81564

Showing his true racist colours

cynic - 26 Aug 2016 17:03 - 73215 of 81564

i repeat - the man is a total knobhead

ExecLine - 26 Aug 2016 18:53 - 73216 of 81564

Trump is a billionaire. Who wouldn't want to be half mates friendly with a billionaire?

Obama came over here and peculiarly told us to vote 'Remain'. ie. give up our democratic rights and stay in the EU and let the EU tell us what we can and can't do.

Would America ever let itself be governed like that? Not a chance in hell!

So Farage was telling the 'Non-Obama lot' (ie. Trump and the Republicans) not to vote for Obama and what he stands for. More specifically, not to vote for Hilary Clinton and what she stands for - and he went on to describe how he would not himself vote for Hilary even if 'they paid him to do so' - or 'even if Hilary herself paid him to do so'.

Menwhile, Trump was smiling away and listening to all of this Farage stuff. The bottom line being, that Farage was indirectly proffering his support for Trump.

Farage's popularity in the States must now be massive - much higher now than it ever was.

They like listening to his oratory just like some of us do. :-)

cynic - 26 Aug 2016 19:50 - 73217 of 81564

enjoying listening to Knobhead making a populist speech does not stop him being a total knobhead

MaxK - 27 Aug 2016 00:12 - 73218 of 81564

You haven't explained why Farage is a knobhead c.

Seems to me he ran rings around the establishment.

Haystack - 27 Aug 2016 00:43 - 73219 of 81564

Farage may well have partly caused the referendum, but Boris was more responsible for the leave victory

cynic - 27 Aug 2016 08:44 - 73220 of 81564

farage is a knobhead because he hadn't the nous to see that aligning himself with trump - merely appearing on the same platform and trumpeting (sorry!) is that - sets the perception that he is every bit as nasty and bigoted as trump

basic common sense should have also told him that he had no right to start interfering in american politics and electioneering, any more than did obama with the referendum

as i said ..... the man is a knobhead and will have lost much credibility and support in the uk

=====================

hays - as was corbyn's tepid call for labour members to vote to remain

grannyboy - 27 Aug 2016 11:08 - 73221 of 81564

'Nigel Farage has been receiving congratulatory plaudits for his platform
sharing speech with D.Trump'

Many high ranking people in the US have been indicating they would like to see
Nigel Farage stand as an independent in an effort to get him into the White House.

But when asked about this new development Nigel Farage insisted he might be
called on to lead a NEW party in the UK and to become the opposition to the
Tory party..Unquote!

ExecLine - 27 Aug 2016 11:47 - 73222 of 81564

He well might too.

But first, let's see how Theresa May performs, which so far, seems to be quite well.
