Sefton Resources - a SCREAMING BUY at this price - small-cap oil producer (SER)

mjr1234 - 10 Nov 2005 12:44

This stock looks like the most undervalued oil company on the stock exchange. >
Sefton Resources epic SER. It is currently trading at a price of 0.275p valueing the whole company at just 4M.

You might look at the market cap and assume that this company is just an explorer or a shell, but in fact Sefton is producing over 6000 barrels of oil per month with a monthly revenue of over $300k. It's recent work on it's Tapia oilfield exceeded expectations, meaning the company hit it's 200BOPD target 5 months early, and is now expecting resource and production estimates to be further upgraded. This is before it embarks on a steam-assisted programme early next year which
could see production rates multiplied 2-4 times! It is also looking at drilling further wells on the rich Tapia field in the light of the better than expected results.

So why is it only valued at 4M? The primary reason is lack of awareness of the stock, the sub-1p price puts many people off straight away, and a large overhang.

A year or so ago the company was put in financial dire straits by a
well blowout and had to undertake large discounted placings to get
itself back on track, which it has done with a vengeance. However,
some of these placing shares, which represent some 25% of the company
are being sold into the market, depressing the price so that despite the fact that the companies prospects have improved dramatically over
the past year, the price has dropped by nearly 60%.

This makes the company an absolute bargain at these rock-bottom prices. In 6 months time I expect this to be worth 3-5 times the current price. SERIOUSLY.

There is plenty of research to get your teeth into, the best place to start is the website :

www.seftonresources.com

There are 2 excellent articles on Sefton on the following website by Ian Mclelland (Jan/Feb 2006) - well worth a read to get up to speed on this company and it's prospects:

i am hopng that this share isnt going the same way as others that i have held. where there has been a promise of news but the managent have failed to deliver. i have seen much talk of the 'early to mid march news' which was apparently the time scale someone was given in an email from the company. i much prefer to see official RNS's instead of emails to individuals.

as the early to mid march deadline has past i can only assume one or two reasons for this:

1. the person claiming to have received the email was lying
2. the company have failed to deliver as promised.

i hope i am wrong and i will continue to hold as i can see the long term prospects for SER, however the company need to sort their PR act out and they need to do it soon.

mjr1234 - 21 Mar 2006 10:14 - 738 of 1047

julian1976,

I think it's a case of
3. changing circumstances, waiting on other parties, etc etc means that the timescales given to shareholders in emails, phone calls etc cannot be taken as gospel, but guidelines.

I think it's fair to say the most we will have to wait now is 6 weeks (results), but maybe there will be one or more news items before then.

Surely that's not long to wait is it?

julian1976 - 21 Mar 2006 10:33 - 739 of 1047

mjr

to a long term investor in SER, just like myself, then of course 6 weeks is not too long to wait, however i am sure there are many inexperienced investors who read these BB's and will become frustrated with posts stating there is news due and then it doesnt materialise. i appreciate that you could say that its their own fault however i dont think this helps in providing over all good publicity for the company.
i intend to hold SER for a minumum of 2 years so whether news comes now, next week, next month or even next year, isnt that much of a issue for me, however for many im sure it is.

mjr1234 - 21 Mar 2006 10:39 - 740 of 1047

So are you saying we shouldn't post what we get in emails or phone calls from Directors, just in case naive investors take them to be gospel and when timescales slip they give up and sell out?

I don't think the needs of naive investors should be the primary considerations when posting on there boards - the primary consideration is to share information.

Beginner investors just need to realise they are beginners and have a lot to learn and try to keep an open mind, and above all DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH!!

julian1976 - 21 Mar 2006 11:37 - 741 of 1047

ok mjr

these are just my views and as i long term holder i am entitled to them. i feel we could be a little more compasionate towards 'begginers' as we have all been there and all lost money.

quite simply posters who state that they have spoken to the company and then state that there is news coming (and then it doesnt) do more harm for the SP than good.

mjr1234 - 21 Mar 2006 11:51 - 742 of 1047

No they do neither harm or good to the share price. I do not believe what is posted on a bulletin board affects the share price in either direction.

If people are stupid enough to buy or sell on the strength of a few posts on a discussion board without DOING THEIR OWN RESEARCH as well, then that is their look out and they are responsible for their own decision and any losses they may make by doing so.

I will continue to post any information whatsoever that I have on SER on this thread as that is the purpose of this thread.

rhino213 - 21 Mar 2006 14:23 - 743 of 1047

Guys! Calm it down a bit. Lets remember, We are all here because we are on the same team - We all want to beat the market!!! You all make valid points but lets keep on topic here. SER not noob investors. If somebody gives me a tip, I do my research before I buy in to it. If I'm not happy with what I see, I leave it alone. simple!

mjr - Where's that news? The share price seems to have stalled a bit lately. It needs a kick up the bum to get it going again. I have confidence in this company to deliver what they are talking about. I just wish they'd hurry up and do it!

C NILE - 21 Mar 2006 15:17 - 744 of 1047

SER are experts in raising expectations and then letting investors down. They have done it for years. Why should this time be different?

mjr1234 - 22 Mar 2006 09:18 - 745 of 1047

Sent off for a copy of the shareholder's register yesterday. Should be interesting..

mmiller555 - 22 Mar 2006 12:55 - 746 of 1047

Have to agree with Rhino that it's news we need. Interest is waning at the moment and punters are moving cash elsewhere since hitting .65 some weeks ago.

No news and the steady drip south will continue and still 6 weeks to go until results are due.

Need news on current production rates (and sales) now so come on Mr Sefton!!!

mjr1234 - 22 Mar 2006 13:03 - 747 of 1047

If people who bought at 0.65 are selling out already, at a 20% loss then they are either bad/inexperienced investors, or T+ traders trying to trade the wrong sort of stock, simple as that.

Moral of the story: Don't try and trade this stock - it's a buy and hold and requires patience (which is a prerequisite for any successful investment).

Just DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, and if you like what you see then BUY AND HOLD. Otherwise don't bother. Very simple really.

mmiller555 - 22 Mar 2006 13:10 - 748 of 1047

Hear what you say mjr, but its news we need or interest fades - simple as that!

explosive - 22 Mar 2006 17:07 - 749 of 1047

mmiller555 - "Hear what you say mjr, but its new we need or interest fades - simple as that!"

Not in this share it would seam, the only news releases apart from Director buy/sells or options is either in the form or a trading statement, interims or finals. Anyone whos been in on SER for 12 months would know this. There are more posters on this thread now then I've ever seen before suggesting interest has increased... We all love to read news but at the end of the day I'd rather the board concentrate on operations than consistant updates..

tizzamark1 - 22 Mar 2006 18:35 - 750 of 1047

I bought in at .65 and am in for the long run. Not going to sell. I swithered from about .40 doing research and am standing by my decision based on current activity, drilling results. Good luck all whatever you choose.

mjr1234 - 22 Mar 2006 23:36 - 751 of 1047

Looking forward to the news..

cellby - 22 Mar 2006 23:59 - 752 of 1047

If this was txo, pVr, blr or some other very small oil co. at .5p producing 200 barrels per day or more I am sure people would be jumping in to buy them, but ser is producing more oil than any of these at at least 1000% cheaper share price than some of the aboVe.With their production they are the cheapest share on the market, but people only know them from their disasters, now they are making it work by producing oil and making plans to grow the company.

mjr1234 - 23 Mar 2006 08:27 - 753 of 1047

Never mind Hardman&Co initial research note should be out in 2 weeks - should begin to address the issue.

Diablo666 - 23 Mar 2006 12:19 - 754 of 1047

Mj

How ya doin' ...

I'm climbing back in...

Get ready for a re-run....

mjr1234 - 23 Mar 2006 12:24 - 755 of 1047

Diablo - fine thanks! Added last week at .53 so wishing i'd waited a bit, but it is looking like bottoming out now and almost ready for the next rise.

How many are you after, because it's 50k online limit at the moment. Not many available at under .5p

Diablo666 - 23 Mar 2006 13:07 - 756 of 1047

I za fillin' my boots... Should say it's been bit by bit...
