How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?
Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Steve....Nice bit of trading to pick up some at 1.49
I've just greened up for a profit of 110.59. I think I'll settle on this as have worked quite hard to get to this position considering the odds haven't really shifted too much.

Excellent trading once again!
Can't see Aus losing this match but could with a couple of early wickets just to help them along.

With the result an absolute stone cold cert how can Australia still be backed at 1.02 or SA laid at 190?
The only reason I can possibly think of is rain of monsoon dimensions to wipe out play for the day!
It looks like very easy pickings - OK, for a v small win to a big sum laid out - but even so.
What's the catch?

See you had a good night last night, nice bit of trading. Had to go to kip at lunch. At what price would you look to lay the draw? or is that too risky

i had just started laying SA again as the wicket came
personally can see a tiny chance of a draw but cannot understand any circumstance in which SA can win

Fundy I see the first ODI NZ / Sri L match starts tom night, are they worth trading or do you stick to the test matches?
So you would say lay SA the less risky?

ODIs are worth trading but are often highly volatile. Tend to lay any side that goes below 1.3 as a general rule (there are the odd exception) and i never back at below 1.5 - dont think the NZ game is on tv so unlikely to be much liquidity
started laying SA again :-)

SA at 148/7 need 218 to win from 68 overs at a run rate of just over 3 an over. Run rate this am has been 2.2 with Australia attacking. If and its a big if SA got into the last session then scoring offWarne and MacGill bowling round the wicket into the footholes will be nigh on impossible. Also SA mentality will have them looking to draw not win
