Oi SOS - this is a special thread for special people. We don't have strangers in these parts.

chocolat - 15 Feb 2007 14:19 - 7425 of 11056

The ice crusher's just a little bit attached to the fridge, meggers.
It's sometimes quicker just to stick yer hand inside the box.

Just a little bit long from 1.9686 ;)

oops typo ... 586
fingers are still a bit cold :S

mg - 15 Feb 2007 14:33 - 7426 of 11056

Has he gone?

As for the ice crusher attached to the fridge - can' see the point in it I'd need to stand on a chair to get my portion - prefer the hole in my back garden - the traditional way to keep it fresh. What was good for the Victorians is good enough for me.

As you may have gathered - no positions - only verbal diarrhoea whilst waiting to go for a check up with the prison doctor. Need a scrip to get off rock bashing.

chocolat - 15 Feb 2007 15:04 - 7427 of 11056

What a load of messing about.
Reversed 1.9584.
Probably get stopped out again :)

Good luck with the rocks meggers ;)

Oh dear. I've been a busy girl lately and it's made me very tired. I had my lunch, put my feet on the desk ahead of the US data and just woke up two hours later.

Apart from 19 posts about ice crushers and a visit from Doris, have I missed anything?

:o)

Melnibone - 15 Feb 2007 15:28 - 7429 of 11056

Nobody seems to have mentioned this.
Is it a seasonal fluctuation, something like repatriation of capital
at year end?
Or something more sinister?

If buyers are turning into sellers, why is the US 10yr price going up
(yield Down) ?

U.S. sees first net capital outflow since June 2005.

Daisy; Not missed anything, but it would be good if you can find MG a proper job, there must be something that needs regenerating somewhere, perhaps somewhere a long way away overseas!

Harlosh - 15 Feb 2007 15:43 - 7431 of 11056

I rely on you to explain things like that to me Mel :-))

Melnibone - 15 Feb 2007 15:53 - 7432 of 11056

I'm just the newbie apprentice on this thread, Harlosh. :-)

I might have a read up on Petrodollars. The fall in the price of Oil
must mean that less of them are about to invest in US $ denominated
assets.
I did read somewhere that OPEC countries had less dosh to buy US debt,
and were actually selling some of it recently?
Maybe something to do with that causing the recent Bond yield rise, and
now maybe some see some value?
There's certainly still loads of liquidity still sloshing around, trying to find
a home, and dovish Ben, still reading the Goldilocks story, isn't helping
matters.

All above just thinking aloud. Not facts.

Melnibone - 15 Feb 2007 16:03 - 7433 of 11056

That didn't take long.
Good old Google. :-)

Oil's woes are a boon for the dollar

But a continued drop in oil prices may cut petrodollar investment in U.S.

Robert Sinche, currency strategist at Bank of America, noted that "there appears to
be a meaningful, and nearly coincident, correlation" between oil prices and holdings
of U.S. Treasurys by OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries)
members.

"It is in this context that the rise in oil prices and savings flows into relatively high
yielding U.S. assets may have helped support the [dollar] in 2005-06 despite the
rising U.S. external imbalance," he said.

Bullie... you're still living on history;-)

Harlosh - 15 Feb 2007 16:26 - 7438 of 11056

Gave a few back there but well done Choccie for reversing into it.

Bullshare - 15 Feb 2007 16:30 - 7439 of 11056

Jules; A little reminder now and then doesn't do any harm:-)

Jules - 15 Feb 2007 16:39 - 7440 of 11056

Hey Mike, , I'll remember that;-)

Bullshare - 15 Feb 2007 16:43 - 7441 of 11056

Jules: Don't normally look in on this thread but I have had so many complaints from the ladies about MG and his Valentines antics and inappropriate behaviour I thought I better look in! :-)

Melnibone - 15 Feb 2007 16:51 - 7442 of 11056

Voyeurism, eh? Bullie. ;-)

I can never work out if this thread has more double-entendres
than a Carry On film, or if I'm the weirdo. :-(

It makes you feel like the bod in the corner, that everyone's pointing
at and sniggering "He doesn't know." ;-)

mg - 15 Feb 2007 17:37 - 7443 of 11056

Mel, snigger, you don't know do you?

SOS - I go out for a couple of hours and you've started upsetting all the laydees - go on push off back to the place where little bald gits hang out. This thread is for the lowculs - you're not local are you?
