THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Don't the pictures from the jungle eviction remind you of Dunkerque at the beginning of the second world war !....

Well so long as they don't send any pleasure cruisers to ferry the inhabitants
back over the channel, there's enough coming through 'official' channels..

grannyboy - 27 Oct 2016 09:41 - 74261 of 81564

Good GDP figures just announced, but the pro-eu(soft Brexit)brigade, media are still looking for negatives...

Fred1new - 27 Oct 2016 09:47 - 74262 of 81564

Dream on!

cynic - 27 Oct 2016 09:57 - 74263 of 81564

what's good about the gdp figures?
haven't looked, but even if better than feared, even mr micawber would have found it difficult to be optimistic about them

"what's good about the gdp figures?
havn't looked, but even if better than feared, even mr micawber would have
found it difficult to be optimistic about them"

Why if YOU havn't seen the figures, and yet find it in YOUR judgement to
opinion that it is difficult to be optimistic about them..

If the figures had been a disaster then YOU and YOUR ilk, and that includes the
pro-eu media and political pygmies would have made hay out of them..

As to the 'non-existent' waste of oxygen that little fred exudes in its post 74265
illustrates him to a tee...LMAO!

Operation Elveden cost taxpayers £30m. It was set up to investigate inappropriate payments to police officers by journalists. The only journalist ever to be convicted was just cleared on appeal in 30secs.

cynic - 27 Oct 2016 13:34 - 74266 of 81564

GB - i knew there was growth but didn't know how much or how much had been feared

and if you think it's all going to be jolly sailing from hereon, and that is even omitting the negotiations still to come, then you're a far bigger fool that i think you are

i am sure there will be some very rough (market) times ahead, and no doubt bits of good news too
indeed, nissan's decision re sunderland is more than comforting for pretty obvious and widespread reasons

btw, you have conveniently forgotten that i voted "out" albeit with considerable misgivings .... but don't let the facts get in the way of your story

iturama - 27 Oct 2016 14:03 - 74267 of 81564

It would have been better if they had convicted him instead of just convincing him Hays..

"GB - i knew there was growth but didn't know how much or how much had been feared"

Then YOU should've done some research before posting those comment's
you did in 74266, and then come back and try to cover your stupidity by
accusing me of not being aware that there will be rough times ahead as you
did in your post 74269.

And no i hadn't forgot that 'you' said you had voted out, but had really a
'sit on the fence' attitude.

cynic - 27 Oct 2016 15:51 - 74269 of 81564

you must have got a hornet stuck up your arse - and i hope it hurts badly

with regard to brexit, my decision took much long and careful thought, though in your case, clearly not

grannyboy - 27 Oct 2016 16:05 - 74270 of 81564

Haha...Where did you get the hornet from...Why not a bee in my bonnet?
and why stuck up my posterior...

You sound a slight miffed....Could it be because i'm more decisive and had
made a clear and well thought out decision to LEAVE over many years, and
didn't have to wait until the last minute to decide that the UK didn't need to
be in the corrupt, unaccountable, unelected EU to trade freely with the world..

Nice rise in Lloy today Tanker. You do pick 'em. I don't intend to buy another house; maybe I will invest in a walking frame for my tender years.

cynic - 27 Oct 2016 16:44 - 74273 of 81564

you voted out for one set of reasons, which is fine
mine were much more complex and tried to take into account others factors too

still i suppose it must be comforting for you to have a simple, simplistic and rigid mind-set - rather like many if not most of trump's supporters

Haystack - 27 Oct 2016 16:52 - 74274 of 81564

Good to see that polls show majority of Republicans now think Trump will lose

"you voted out for one set of reasons, which is fine

Couldn't be further from the truth, i had a myriad of reasons for wanting to
LEAVE the EU, but yes i did have a clear rigid made up mind.

But your arguments let you down when you feel the need to introduce
Trump into the argument, besides your other indecisions..

cynic - 27 Oct 2016 17:05 - 74276 of 81564

fine, if that is what you want to think, then carry on
can't discuss anything with a block of concrete either

grannyboy - 27 Oct 2016 17:15 - 74277 of 81564

Its not what i think, but know, its the same with a lot of statements YOU make,
as in....."rather like many if not most of trump's supporters", which had absolutely
nothing to do with the conversation that was going on, but you are one of those
who when they're losing an argument try to deflect the spotlight by accusing others
of some irrelevant rubbish.

cynic - 27 Oct 2016 17:26 - 74278 of 81564

that's got rid of you .... something i almost never do, but frankly you're just a boor

at least fred can be quite entertaining once you get past his silliness which i suspect is partially facade
