Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Refreshing the futures page sometimes (very rarely but has happened several times) brings up the front page instead.

Kayak - 26 Feb 2003 14:10 - 747 of 7315

Futures page:

1. I'm getting a new login page when clicking on any of the headings on the top row. This one says NOT logged in, unlike the ones we were getting on the BB some time ago.

2. The main futures page scrolls in a window within the main window. This is annoying since refresh loses one's scrolled position on the page, which it would not do if it was the main window that was being scrolled. I can't see any obvious reason to use an inner window. Any chance of changing it?

Andy

Just to let you know that I haven't had any login problems since my last complaint a week ago. Looks as if you've done the biz.

Cheers. :o)

MoneyAM
I need a favour.... Since Monday I have not been able to get MoneyAM at work. I work for a bank and we have a very restrictive internet access policy. We use a product called Websense to determine what catagory of site you can or cant visit. Websense is a widely used application. MoneyAM is classified as 'Society and Lifestyles', which is not allowed in my Bank. ADVFN is classified as 'Financial Data and Services', which is allowed. On the Websense web site(www.websense.com) there is a lookup to check how a site is classified. There is then a button to complete a short form if you think it is classified wrongly. I have already completed the form to try to get you classified as 'Financial Data & Services', I would be greatful if you could do the same.

Please E.Mail me if any problems.

Thanks

Anyone on BT having connection problems this morning. We are getting a lot of BT users having problems today!

vasey - 28 Feb 2003 08:38 - 753 of 7315

I use BT Broadband and it's working fine here.

hilary - 28 Feb 2003 08:49 - 754 of 7315

Regarding Jeffmack's post 748 above, I can now confirm that I have indeed visited the Websense website and completed the form requesting that the am category be changed. I was a little uncertain as to which category am fell within, so I clicked Pornography. Hopefully, that should help Jeffmack in his cause.

:-)

Bullshare - 28 Feb 2003 08:51 - 755 of 7315

hilary; Thanks for that, not, but if we get that category our hit rate will go sky high:-)

hilary - 28 Feb 2003 09:09 - 756 of 7315

My pleasure, Mike.

:-)

On a serious note, is it likely to help if others visit the Websense site and ask them to alter the category? I'll be happy to do so if it'll help Jeff.

Kayak, your comments noted and they're on the list.
Streaming charts are the priority at the moment...

Bit late - but I had problem - I have special tools to check and BT core routers were slow. A sequence of about 3 BT routers were 3 or 4 times slower than normal. BT onto Level3 (where AM is) is still slow.

Edit: just did another check and the same BT core router is still mega slow - about 5 times slower. It's:
62.6.196.245 core1-pos13-0.ealing.ukcore.bt.net

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 28 Feb 2003 10:43 - 759 of 7315

BrianTrayda,

By special tools, do you mean 'traceroute'? :)

BrianTrayda - 28 Feb 2003 10:54 - 760 of 7315

J. - go and buy VisualRoute Trace - truly amazing for this type of work/problem.
Only $50

VisualRoute is here

edit: Traceroute/VisualRoute is like DosPrompt/Windows.

shezzalad: Glad to hear your login problems have gone away. We must have done something right.

MM, Mike, Hilary
Thanks for your help. Had an E.Mail from Websense advising that they will soon rebrand you as Financial. So once again work can take a back seat while I enjoy MoneyAM.

Kayak - 01 Mar 2003 18:04 - 763 of 7315

The login problems have come back! This time though the login screen says NOT logged in. It happens on going from thread index to a thread.

MightyMicro - 02 Mar 2003 13:24 - 764 of 7315

Kayak:

There was a glitch on 28 Feb/1 Mar when I couldn't log in -- apparently the app server had stopped. Jonathan is looking into it.

Could that by any chance be related?
