Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Ruling the white house should be pretty straight forward as the republicans are dominant throughout the houses.......the USA has a lot to straighten out and the gun laws are nuts over there......and the NHS in America ?...ouch....immigration is out of control.....heck of a lot of things to do plus getting the economy moving again....the election is the easy bit...now the real work starts...one thing is for sure is that the black American voter has endorsed DT...which is an enormous surprise !.....

don't know young freddy, though lower taxes come to mind as does the complete or partial dismantling of medicare
subject to being restrained by certain elements of the constitution, with the republicans in control of both houses, the democrats will not be able to block whereas the reverse was certainly so

RF,
Trump, may pull out of Europe quicker than supposed and to hell with Nato.
Giving Putin a free hand to Russia's previous colonies.
Suggest rearming Germany quickly.

Dumbo,
Slept like a log last night.
Woke to a possible nightmare over the next 5years.
But sanguine about it as I have always been interested in nightmares.
But you do seem to indulge in other people's supposed miseries.

little fred takes his cue from the guardianista, so don't expect any cohesive
response from the liberal lefty, until the guardian publish their response and
shock at the mauling the bleeding heart liberals are now justifyingly getting.

fred - though nothing is impossible, i very much doubt that trump will pull usa out of nato ..... however, he may insist with some justification that the other members all pay their proper dues - i think some are akin to being bad debts, though not uk

The Democrats will be expecting Michelle Obama to run next time.
Luckily, Trump won't be able to implement most of his crazy ideas like a wall as the House and the Senate will keep him in check. A US President has very little power of his own as he is not part of the legislature.

The same applies to NATO. The government will keep most things as they were.

People voted for both Brexit and Trump because they're unhappy with their lives. The shadowy ghost of the latest recession still haunts them. These people are poor, scared, angry, bored or all of the above. Those that should have been persecuted for the economic crash weren't. Therefore leading to people losing hope in our system, we will regain it we always do.
Personally I think we will fall into another war. You only have to study elementary history to see the correlation of events. Economic breakdown: war.
But don't you dare think for one moment that socialism and liberalism will collapse, not in this country. There will always be people to look out for others. There will always be people to help the poor, to break down social barriers and to fight for fair rights.
I ask you, how do you see our great country's future? How do you see the worlds future? Will we still have a world in which to govern?...

You can see how little power the President has by the way that Obama could do almost nothing in his second term. The legislature stopped him at every turn.
The ONLY power of the US President is to start a conflict/war without permission, which is then subject to ratification by the government within 60 days. In practice, even that power has been relinquished in recent years and the POTUS now requires up front permission.

obama (democrat) was regularly blocked by the senate (republican)
this time, both houses are under the control of the same party (republican)

Yes it must be those one or two word incohesive one liners that have us worried.
