THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Fred's left wing nightmare , i can see his tears dripping in to the Guardian this morning ha ha .

cynic - 09 Nov 2016 10:47 - 74517 of 81564

don't know young freddy, though lower taxes come to mind as does the complete or partial dismantling of medicare

subject to being restrained by certain elements of the constitution, with the republicans in control of both houses, the democrats will not be able to block whereas the reverse was certainly so

Fred1new - 09 Nov 2016 11:19 - 74518 of 81564

RF,

Trump, may pull out of Europe quicker than supposed and to hell with Nato.

Giving Putin a free hand to Russia's previous colonies.

Suggest rearming Germany quickly.

Interesting.

Dumbo,

Slept like a log last night.

Woke to a possible nightmare over the next 5years.

But sanguine about it as I have always been interested in nightmares.

But you do seem to indulge in other people's supposed miseries.

VICTIM - 09 Nov 2016 11:27 - 74519 of 81564

Going on your previous predictions and analysis , I'd take what you say with a pinch of salt Freda . Scaremongering is up your street as well . Get down Shep .

grannyboy - 09 Nov 2016 11:43 - 74520 of 81564

little fred takes his cue from the guardianista, so don't expect any cohesive
response from the liberal lefty, until the guardian publish their response and
shock at the mauling the bleeding heart liberals are now justifyingly getting.

cynic - 09 Nov 2016 11:44 - 74521 of 81564

fred - though nothing is impossible, i very much doubt that trump will pull usa out of nato ..... however, he may insist with some justification that the other members all pay their proper dues - i think some are akin to being bad debts, though not uk

jimmy b - 09 Nov 2016 11:53 - 74522 of 81564

Fred i don't post here much anymore ,just popped over to indulge in your pathetic misery ,left wing twat.

I see your only mate now is cynic .

grannyboy - 09 Nov 2016 12:11 - 74523 of 81564

jimmy b "I see your only mate now is cynic"

And even that becomes fraught at times, but they do say 'love never runs true'..

jimmy b - 09 Nov 2016 12:42 - 74524 of 81564

Farage has a meeting with the Trumpster this weekend .

Long live the King aye Fred .

Haystack - 09 Nov 2016 12:45 - 74525 of 81564

The Democrats will be expecting Michelle Obama to run next time.

Luckily, Trump won't be able to implement most of his crazy ideas like a wall as the House and the Senate will keep him in check. A US President has very little power of his own as he is not part of the legislature.

Haystack - 09 Nov 2016 12:46 - 74526 of 81564

The same applies to NATO. The government will keep most things as they were.

cynic - 09 Nov 2016 12:46 - 74527 of 81564

jimmy - you guys let fred wind you up too easily, and the more you allow it, the more he'll play to it - and clearly very successfully

jimmy b - 09 Nov 2016 12:53 - 74528 of 81564

Your wrong Haystack full stop.

cynic i haven't posted here for a couple of weeks . Fred doesn't wind me up in fact i annoy him far more which is why he throws childish insults .
You seem to enjoy his company which is fine ,keep it up.

Garthyboy - 09 Nov 2016 12:54 - 74529 of 81564

People voted for both Brexit and Trump because they're unhappy with their lives. The shadowy ghost of the latest recession still haunts them. These people are poor, scared, angry, bored or all of the above. Those that should have been persecuted for the economic crash weren't. Therefore leading to people losing hope in our system, we will regain it we always do.
Personally I think we will fall into another war. You only have to study elementary history to see the correlation of events. Economic breakdown: war.
But don't you dare think for one moment that socialism and liberalism will collapse, not in this country. There will always be people to look out for others. There will always be people to help the poor, to break down social barriers and to fight for fair rights.
I ask you, how do you see our great country's future? How do you see the worlds future? Will we still have a world in which to govern?...

jimmy b - 09 Nov 2016 13:08 - 74530 of 81564

Is that you Fred ? :)

cynic - 09 Nov 2016 13:20 - 74531 of 81564

fred is very silly indeed at times, but at other times one can have a sensible discussion with him - or at least i am able to do so
when he's being silly, i just ignore

Haystack - 09 Nov 2016 13:25 - 74532 of 81564

You can see how little power the President has by the way that Obama could do almost nothing in his second term. The legislature stopped him at every turn.

The ONLY power of the US President is to start a conflict/war without permission, which is then subject to ratification by the government within 60 days. In practice, even that power has been relinquished in recent years and the POTUS now requires up front permission.

cynic - 09 Nov 2016 13:39 - 74533 of 81564

obama (democrat) was regularly blocked by the senate (republican)
this time, both houses are under the control of the same party (republican)

grannyboy - 09 Nov 2016 13:48 - 74534 of 81564

"Is that you Fred ? :)

No far too intelligent and cohesive a post for little fred.

Yes it must be those one or two word incohesive one liners that have us worried.

MaxK - 09 Nov 2016 13:53 - 74535 of 81564

Just in case you are wondering what you are missing..
