jj yes please, strawberries and cream and Chablis, this is luxury living on Sat afternoon. You could be very busy soon. Glad the PC's OK, can't be too carefull with what you download. Keep the AV and firewall up to date.

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 14:20 - 7472 of 23498

dd which do you find the easiest to select, winners at the races or companies on the Stock Market? Dont worry that I might ask you for a horse it really isn't my scene. Just been very lucky on Jeffmacks Gee Gee game :-))

jj50 - 12 Jun 2004 14:58 - 7473 of 23498

Plenty of strawberries left. We are setting tables up outside to make the most
of the weather. More wine ....?

opto, thanks for comments on TGN; at least PTG is going in the right direction at last:-}

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 15:09 - 7474 of 23498

Following you around jj have another look at TGN thread, slight delay there, had to answer the door

snoball - 12 Jun 2004 15:13 - 7475 of 23498

Strewth!
It takes an age to catch up on here now. All those nocturnal goings on.
May I join you in those strawberries and wine jj?

jj50 - 12 Jun 2004 15:29 - 7476 of 23498

Absolutely snoball, the more the merrier. Top up the wine all round I think. Have just put up shelves and think they may look straighter after another glass - are spirit levels always accurate?!

Hello again opto. Have looked at TGN thread and appreciate your comments. I was just tidying up redundant shares having had the usual clear out at the year end, when I realized TGN had missed the screening. It was originally tipped on Citywire and it was at the time when there were power problems, so just a highly speculative (and small) punt, which it now looks like I hadn't researched properly. I notice I bought ASOS on the same day, so more than compensated! See-saw effect.

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 15:32 - 7477 of 23498

Hi snoball all delish this, cant eat any more strawbs but could well manage another glass of wine. Seem to have lost jj hope I haven't thrown too much confusion in her investment decisions re TGN. Must admit though the fundamentals look a bit bleak jj :-((
Will make it up on PTG, and more I hope :-))

jj50 - 12 Jun 2004 15:40 - 7478 of 23498

Let me top you up opto. How about you snoball?

Have to confess, my small cap decisions are more whims, the rest is researched -perhaps not the best way to operate, but has been a fairly successful formula to date...in other words, I am no more confused than normal!

Has GD gone AWOL?

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 15:44 - 7479 of 23498

Think GD has gone to Cornwall for a rest after his continental 'holiday'

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 15:51 - 7480 of 23498

Just one more please jj then must leave, had a nice afternoon thanks for your company.

jj50 - 12 Jun 2004 16:06 - 7481 of 23498

I see you are complaining the fridge is empty again. Get your glasses on and stop looking into the washing machine.

jeffmack - 12 Jun 2004 20:44 - 7486 of 23498

Bonjour
Is it me or is the internet a bit slow today?

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 20:48 - 7487 of 23498

Socs, how did you know I wear glasses, the photos haven't been released yet!
jeffmack, gotta be you :-))

jeffmack - 12 Jun 2004 20:51 - 7488 of 23498

opto
Thought so, What can you do to speed it up. I've deleted all my temp files, run a defrag and increased the virtual memory. Any more suggestions

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 21:00 - 7489 of 23498

Had Norton AV which slowed things down a lot. Installed Macafee, now much quicker. Virtual memory usually ample set at default.
I have System Suite Installed, lots of features to clean things up but even that slows things a bit with regular updates.

optomistic - 12 Jun 2004 21:13 - 7490 of 23498

jeffmack, has the problem just arrived tonight? if so could be a 'local' problem, give it a day to see how it goes. By the way I find MAM is one of the slower sites, and I appear to be not on my own in this, probably because there is so much info ie adverts to download on logging on, small problem, worth putting up with!!
