How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Just seen the pictures from sky

covers still on and still drizzling, also quite dark so they have the floodlights on - not sure the light would be good enough to play even if the rain stopped - id guess unlikely to play before lunch

Cloudbase - 02 Jan 2006 00:39 - 7474 of 10502

Most of the heavy rain through now but will be wet out field. Will they take early lunch?
Going to bed shortly, have to be up at 6.30. Will leave me small draw
lay running.

Anyone on the Chelsea game?

Backed them to win at 1-1 and greened up at 1-2. The rest of this afternoons games look tricky.

Hi john, happy new year mate

been on the horses so not been watching the footie, had a quick glance this morning and couldnt see much of interest - well done on the chelsea game

been having a good afternoon though could do with getting star member beat in the 2.55 :-(

Harlosh - 02 Jan 2006 14:59 - 7477 of 10502

Happy new year to you Steve. I hope it is a very profitable one.

Still a bit hungover so shouldn't be trading really but it's the first chance I've had in ages.

Fundamentalist - 02 Jan 2006 15:03 - 7478 of 10502

Lol john

not hungover but tired due to the Australians playing their cricket at the wrong time of day!!! looks like ill be up the next few nights too

star member beaten :-)

We must sort out with Bak to have another night out now the new year is upon us

Harlosh - 02 Jan 2006 15:14 - 7479 of 10502

Absolutely. But let me sober up first. :-)

Cloudbase - 02 Jan 2006 16:12 - 7480 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 02 Jan 2006 16:36 - 7481 of 10502

Cloudbase - 02 Jan 2006 17:42 - 7482 of 10502

Fundy....Well done, nice to start the year as we meen to go on.
Lol on the darts, think i'll have to take her who must be obeyed out
for a meal. Dont have live darts feed either, which does'nt help
and wrong side of 50 for all these late nights

Scripophilist - 02 Jan 2006 19:40 - 7483 of 10502

Well done guys, sounds like I should have been in action today rather than hanging a new door on the kitchen! Early goal in the Blackburn match, Blackburn price was way too short.

Scripophilist - 02 Jan 2006 19:47 - 7484 of 10502

1-1, two goals in seven minutes. Come on Blackburn stuff them outta sight!

Glad to see Liverpool get something out of their game today, I am really coming to dislike Bolton. Their style of play would be more suitable for a kick boxing than a football match.

Evening Scrip

hope u had a good xmas

Had a field day on the darts, enjoyed watching Taylor stuff Manley 7-0. Now to work out the cricket. NZ are short but look fairly priced, draw looks too low in the test though may wait till Kallis is out before laying heavily (he has the ability to bat for very long periods) - that said new ball is due in 6 overs

gonna watch the first few overs and see if there is any life in the pitch

Cloudbase - 02 Jan 2006 23:17 - 7486 of 10502

Hi Fundy......You on the NZ ODI as well?
Watching the draw to add to yesterday's small lay. Nice sunny day there today.

Fundamentalist - 02 Jan 2006 23:19 - 7487 of 10502

cloudbase

got the scores and prices up on the NZ odi but no position as yet, may take one later on

Fundamentalist - 02 Jan 2006 23:23 - 7488 of 10502

Kiwis have got an early wicket :-(

bosley - 02 Jan 2006 23:25 - 7489 of 10502

scripophilist, i'm not a bolton fan , but i've just watched the highlights of the bwfc/lfc and as far i could see it was liverpool using the rough-house tactics.

Cloudbase - 02 Jan 2006 23:29 - 7490 of 10502

The ball before the wicket 141mph bouncer.

Fundamentalist - 02 Jan 2006 23:35 - 7491 of 10502

no liquidity on the NZ ODI - may take another look later

super over from Lee with the new ball and a life for Kallis - LBW looked out to me!
