How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Kiwis have got an early wicket :-(

bosley - 02 Jan 2006 23:25 - 7489 of 10502

scripophilist, i'm not a bolton fan , but i've just watched the highlights of the bwfc/lfc and as far i could see it was liverpool using the rough-house tactics.

Cloudbase - 02 Jan 2006 23:29 - 7490 of 10502

The ball before the wicket 141mph bouncer.

Fundamentalist - 02 Jan 2006 23:35 - 7491 of 10502

no liquidity on the NZ ODI - may take another look later

super over from Lee with the new ball and a life for Kallis - LBW looked out to me!

Cloudbase - 02 Jan 2006 23:58 - 7492 of 10502

A lot of money going for the draw now, they need a wicket pdq.

Fundamentalist - 03 Jan 2006 00:09 - 7493 of 10502

new ball had little impact, aussies without a 3rd frontline seamer, SA looking set for a fairly big total

Cloudbase - 03 Jan 2006 00:45 - 7494 of 10502

Found a streeming link for Aussie match http://www.cricketnetwork.uni.cc/

Fundamentalist - 03 Jan 2006 00:51 - 7495 of 10502

nice one cloudbase

you can be bored senseless by Kallis as well now :-)

Cloudbase - 03 Jan 2006 00:57 - 7496 of 10502

Lol.....it was a link posted on cricbuzz forum. Not too bad quality as long as you've got a magnifying glass, but can't complain, its free

Cloudbase - 03 Jan 2006 01:35 - 7497 of 10502

As soon as Kallis is out the streeming link stopped working.
Did you get a trade on Aus?

Fundamentalist - 03 Jan 2006 01:41 - 7498 of 10502

Cloudbase

i had a small draw lay matched at 1.61 and greened at 1.8

found very little to trade in this game as by habit i like to be a draw layer but i just cant see past it in this game. If Aus lose 1 or less wickets in first 30 overs draw is going to be very very short, as SA will miss Ntini on what is a very flat pitch

Cloudbase - 03 Jan 2006 01:46 - 7499 of 10502

Off to me bed now, didn't get another trade on, will look in for last 1/2 hr.
edit.. What sort of total, 420+ for a declaration or will SA be happy with a draw

Fundamentalist - 03 Jan 2006 14:14 - 7500 of 10502

Anyone trading today

have a look at the price collapse in Kings Charter in 2.15

been backed from 14.0 to 3.0 fav lol

Cloudbase - 03 Jan 2006 14:21 - 7501 of 10502

Hi Fundy....just watched that, hope you grabbed some of it?

Fundamentalist - 03 Jan 2006 14:22 - 7502 of 10502

bakko - 03 Jan 2006 20:03 - 7504 of 10502

Evening and a happy new year to all,

Will be on the footy in a few moments. Not taken any positions yet but my heart will be with Man U.

Strange not to see Keane or Viera involved anymore!

Harlosh - 03 Jan 2006 20:09 - 7505 of 10502

Hi Bak,

On the match also. Not too sure what position to take. Think I'll wait and see.

And a happy new year to you too!

Bugz - 03 Jan 2006 20:13 - 7506 of 10502

Evening Gents.

On the footy, laid the draw and looking to trade out after the first goal, when it arrives hopefully. Think it could be lively.

Come on you GUNNERS!!!! :-)

Harlosh - 03 Jan 2006 20:16 - 7507 of 10502

Small lay on United
