I will speak to Jonathan our system admin guy to see if he can offer any advice and get back to you.

A question re buying a flat screen in France...
If I buy a flat screen monitor in France is it bound to be compatible with my PC (a Gateway) bought here in the UK or are there differences between flat screens sold here and in France?

Fred1new - 19 May 2004 11:32 - 79 of 133

Can you help please.

I wished to send a FAX using the computer.

I have Broad Band and a Zoom external modem. All working well.

Can I use the Broad Band connection to send Fxes or do I have to revert to the internal modem and use an ordinary phone line connection.

Thank you.

Kayak - 19 May 2004 11:35 - 80 of 133

There are services on the web where you can send your fax image and they'll fax it for you, but otherwise you'll need your modem. A fax call is direct between your modem and the recipient machine's modem.

Thank you. "Why is life complicated"

Any help welcome for self cure please.
opto

Kayak - 10 Aug 2004 21:15 - 84 of 133

Not sure anyone will be able to help on this opto, you could try checking that both ends of the printer cable look sound, check for paper jams and the cartridge being OK, and you could also try deleting and reinstalling the printer on Windows, but apart from that it sounds like a hardware problem.

optomistic - 11 Aug 2004 00:01 - 85 of 133

Kayak.
Did the uninstall/install bit. No different, as you say it is probably the end of the printer :-((
Thanks for the reply.

This question Is for Apple Mac users with a Modem.

Has anyone tried On-Speed and If so how do you find It?

Does It Interfere with the live prices on Moneyam In a negative way?

I have been aware of On Speed but not In a Share dealing situation, just listened to a bit on the radio about It but the 2 people had vested Interests to protect, so did not get a balanced view.

Regards All.

TTT.

Kayak - 08 Dec 2004 21:15 - 88 of 133

Stan, Mr Euro in the Traders' Room tried it and reported a speed increase of nearly 2x (although not on streaming). To be honest for 25 just try it!

Onspeed

Stan - 08 Dec 2004 22:42 - 89 of 133

Thanks Kayak, was that definitely on a Mac?

Kayak - 08 Dec 2004 23:33 - 90 of 133

Sorry no, I think it was a PC actually.

DocProc - 09 Dec 2004 12:37 - 91 of 133

OnSpeed should be OK on your MAC and pages like MoneyAM's Stockwatch will also load much faster.

Stan - 09 Dec 2004 14:44 - 92 of 133

Thanks Kayak and you Doc, but I'm actually looking for Mac users who have tried It. Or know Mac users that have tried It.

I don't like putting software on my machine In case I can't get It off or It conflicts In some way.

But thanks once again.

Stan - 10 Dec 2004 16:16 - 93 of 133

Porky I see that you use a Mac(from another thred) as well.

Just to ask are you using a modem and If so have you used this Onspeed software at all please?

Stan - 12 Dec 2004 18:11 - 94 of 133
