THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Fauxpage, isn't even a good comedian leave alone communicator leader he was just a leader of a rabble.

Good to see him escaping to the USA before the going gets tough.

Hope a few others go with him.

Doubt there is anywhere in the UK that would have Farage as an MP. Remind yourselves of when he tried. The electorate didn't want him.

Faced with the option of having a UKIP MP not many areas jump at the chance.

Farage, no chance anywhere. Sarah wins at first attempt. Says it all.

jimmy b - 03 Dec 2016 09:36 - 75285 of 81564

Farage should be Prime Minister .

It's a Birthday day today for me.

Have just sold my car. The very nice buyer (education background) didn't haggle very much at all. He even brought me a very nice bottle of red for my birthday. Very nice.

Off to fetch the new car later this morning. The salesman says it's going to take at least 1.5 hours or so, because among other things, we are going to need a 'teach-in' to learn how to let it park itself. (It does 'parallel' and 'slotting' - but only if it wants to and can).

:-)

I think we should have Farage on every Wednesday and Friday, with Billy Fury on a Thursday and Elvis on Saturday nights.

Dil - 03 Dec 2016 09:56 - 75288 of 81564

Just heard the Sarah interview and what a useless addition she's going to be to the House of Commons.

She got less than 50% of the vote in a constituency that voted about 70% to leave , great mandate you got there love not that here vote will mattere anyway.

BBC etc should take a leaf out of Julia's book and start ramming down the remoaners that we were all told many times by Cammy , Osbourne and co that a leave vote meant we would leave this single market.

We knew what we voted for so press the button and let's get out. EU want a deal then we'll give them one on our terms otherwise they can get to the back of the queue.

I'd also like to hear the interviews where Farage and Boris did worse than Olney , ffs she ran away. Sounded like she was on the phone so why didn't she even have the brains to hang up and pretend the line had gone down while getting some coaching off someone ?

Dil - 03 Dec 2016 09:58 - 75289 of 81564

Imagine a debate between Farage or Boris and Olney , I'd pay to watch that.

EL - much amused about your harrods experience

a few years ago i "discussed" the price of some art in a gallery in amsterdam and happened to mention that is was the middle of november and the city was quiet

the owner kindly gave me a decent discount as well as free shipment to uk :-)

cynic - 03 Dec 2016 10:25 - 75291 of 81564

75285 - could say the same about adolf hitler or billy graham or ronald reagan or joe stalin!

jimmy b - 03 Dec 2016 10:32 - 75292 of 81564

Very true Dil , that is what the woman in the audience on Question time said , we knew what we were voting for the gov kept telling us ,if you vote to leave you are voting to leave the single market .
I voted leave and know exactly what i voted for ,now lets leave,, the EU has a 70 Billion deficit with us they should pay us to trade .

cynic - 03 Dec 2016 12:40 - 75293 of 81564

70% of the richmond electorate voted to leave?
sounds more than unlikely to me

MaxK - 03 Dec 2016 13:29 - 75294 of 81564

I think it's more like 70% of Richmond voted to stay.

And that's what sunk Zac:

His stand was about the third runway at heathrow, but the lib/turds turned it (very successfully) into a re-run of brexit.

Without the tory machine behind him, he was very much on a hiding to nothing.

Had to use a bit of, "'Ere, I paid good money for that!" with the new car.

You are supposed to be able to wave your left foot under the rear bumper and then, 'Whoops!', the boot opens.

Not so. Anyhow, I got home and it works now. So that's alright then.

The wheel arches stick out sideways. About 20mm on each wheel at least. After doing all the paperwork at the salesman's desk, he reminded me of this fact.

"It's highly likely, when you are parked up, that neighbouring cars are going to clatter your wheel extensions with their car doors. Fortunately, I can sell you a Policy to cover that. It's only £409.00, inc VAT and covers you for 6 visits per year for 3 years, making a total of 18 visits. The body work repair guy comes to your home. I would highly recommend it. Actually, it is so good, that nobody ever turns it down."

I didn't dare go "Call it £400, then?" I didn't want to spoil the whole experience.

Out came the bank debit card again. These guys are so good, aren't they?

From Thursday

Ferndown (Dorset) result:
CON: 57.0% (+13.1)
UKIP: 30.4% (-14.2)
LDEM: 7.2% (+7.2)
LAB: 5.3% (-6.1)
Con GAIN from UKIP.

Dil - 03 Dec 2016 17:42 - 75300 of 81564

Yeah sorry cynic I meant 70% voted to remain and she couldn't even poll 50% so where she thinks she gets her mandate from I don't know.

It's suggest some remainers actually accept the vote and are as fed up as the rest of us with the remoaners.

cynic - 03 Dec 2016 18:30 - 75301 of 81564

DIL - it sounds a silly point to make as it's so obvious, but of course your right

HAZE - ferndown parish council election or what?
