Hi All,

What of Reiser though, that has been my thoughts all day, and I don't have the answer.

Will Reiser do a deal like the Mondini one, now that they have competition in their market, using Greenseal on OEM machines ?

Will Packaging Automation also do a deal, we know one of their machines was also converted ?

Cheers,

PM

Driver Hi,

The two big trades are not definately buys, as they are WT trades, they could be buys or sells, the price was high enough earlier today to make them sells, and the way the price was held back today, I think they were sells.

Go back through the trades of the last two weeks, and you will see big trades, looking at the price drop over the last two weeks, I suggest they are sells from the placing shares held by KBC or EVO.

Cheers,

no change there then.

paulmasterson1 - 19 Jul 2005 18:53 - 7538 of 27111

Baza Hi,

Me neither, but it certainly explains the drop from 25p, and the big trades today not pushing the price up, but holding it back.

We should not care that they are selling a few million, it's top up time again for many who thought they would not get back ,what they lost when stop losses were hit over the last 2 weeks, plus if people have done the research, they will be looking at 3-5 years time for maximum gain, not 3-5 days or weeks.

Cheers,

Hi All,

You may not remember me saying so, as it was around the end of may that I would have informed you, that I had contacted IBAW, to introduce Stanelco to them, and I have just recieved a reply, which I have passed on to HQ, along with my origional E-Mail.

IBAW would like Stanelco to become members, and the benefits can be seen in the IBAW description below.

FYI .... http://www.ibaw.org/

IBAW - Catalyzing market development

IBAW was founded in 1993 as a coalition of stakeholders in order to promote the idea of biodegradable plastics. Over the time the association developed to a multi-sectoral organization which represents also bioplastics. The association comprises companies from the chemical and plastics industries, a number of scientific institutes and service providers as well as innovative users of bioplastics. Moreover companies from the sector of agricultural feedstocks have joint IBAW. Today IBAW represents all issues concerning the innovation along the product life. This year IBAW will found a Brussel affiliation under a new name that mirrors the changes we underwent in the last years.

The IBAW has the legal status of an association in German law, it pursues non-commercial goals. Membership is open to anyone who identifies with the aims of the IBAW and who recognizes its statutes.

Our activities:

Multi-sectoral industrial association supporting the market introduction of bioplastics & biodegradable polymers

Representing all issues within the product life cycle from cradle to grave

Shaping EU framework conditions in legislation, technical rules, certification...

Global information network & reliable knowledge base

Communication via press and other media

Initiate role models (e.g. the Kassel project)

Networking with stakeholders

Services for Members

IBAW is supporting its members in many ways:

Legislation and framework conditions: Monitoring issues, representing the industry's views and providing information and data to European and national institutions. We are also building alliances with other stakeholders of the sector, e.g. with APME, EuPC, Copa-Cogeca, ERRMA, CEFIC, ORBIT, ECN, BPS, BPI and many others to shape and optimize framework conditions.

Communications and pre-marketing: Generating and disseminating information on environmental aspects and industry developments. The IBAW makes use of all public relations tools, press releases and press conferences, expert articles for the media, the internet, we also provide information at fairs, exhibitions and events. We thus contribute intensively to create a very postive image of this new material class and to transfer it to the industrial players involved.

Tools for QM and marketing: IBAW is owner of the compostability label, a worldwide protected brand for the labeling of compostable BDP products. The logo is awarded to products that fulfil certification criteria. It is more and more used as the label for BDP products in Europe.
Special member services

Information transfer: Members of the IBAW receive information firsthand either by means of circulars (15-20 newsletters a year) or on secure Internet pages. We exclusively inform our members on future developments, e.g. changes in framework conditions, new funding programs, market opportunities etc.
Business requests derived from our PR are sent directly to our members.

Public relations & press work: We publish press releases and link the websites of our members on our website (appr. 10.000 hits per week in 2005).
We communicate highlights of product and market development in expert media via articles and press releases.

Consulting: We support you with relevant information and business matching: various addresses are available, our widespread contacts to BDP companies can be used (manufacturers, converters, users etc.). European projects can be supported and co-ordinated by us. IBAW shares knowledge and experiences among members.

Organization of meetings, demonstrations and trade fairs: IBAW organizes events, expert meetings and conferences, e.g. the International "Advanced Bioplastics" Symposium, as well as exhibitions and tradefairs, where members can showcase their products, e.g. at the interpack 2005, BioFach 2005 and International Green Week 2004.
We also present the material development and products to key decision makers and politicians on social events and conferences.
Members will benefit from significant price discounts on events held under the banner of IBAW.

Our activities are based on the input and participation of our members, they set up the strategies and priorities of our work.

I have also been sent with the reply, the Interpack 2005 report, and if anyone want's a copy, just E-Mail me via my website.

Cheers,

PM

Hi All,

From IBAW

German Packaging Ordinance now in force

The German packaging ordinance has entered in force since 28th of May 2005.

"Waste Management Objectives
The purpose of this Ordinance is to avoid or reduce the environmental impacts of waste arising from packaging. Packaging waste shall in the first instance be avoided; reuse of packaging, recycling and other forms of recovery shall otherwise take priority over the disposal of packaging waste. By 30 June 2001, the share of all packaging waste being recovered shall be 65 percent by weight and the share being recycled shall be 45 percent by weight. This Ordinance aims to increase to at least 80 per cent the share of beverages filled into reusable drinks packaging and ecologically advantageous one-way drinks packaging. The Federal Government shall conduct the necessary surveys on the respective shares and shall publish the results annually in the Federal Gazette. The Federal Government shall assess the impact on waste management of the provisions contained in Articles 8 and 9 by no later than 1 January 2010. The Federal Government shall report its findings to both the Bundestag and the Bundesrat."

paul, i didn't see any mention of exclusivity in today's rns , so , if seo want to do the same with reiser or anyone else, they are free to do so.

paulmasterson1 - 19 Jul 2005 19:35 - 7542 of 27111

Bosley Hi,

Indeed no exclusivity, but we have heard nothing from Reiser for ages, and one would have thought that they would have been first with a deal like todays

Hi all(except seq that is),

There's more :)

IBAW were involved in the 'Kassel Project', described as "Kassel Project - Information about the worlds only pilot project for marketing and recycling of compostable packaging. made from biodegradable polymers"

http://www.modellprojekt-kassel.de/eng/downloads/kassel-project_brochure.pdf

And near the bottom of this page ....

http://www.wbcsd.org/plugins/DocSearch/details.asp?type=DocDet&ObjectId=MTIyMTk

The Kassel Project

Cargill Dow, in association with the city of Kassel, Germany, ran the worlds only pilot project for the marketing and recycling of compostable packaging made from biodegradable polymers. From May 2001 to November 2002, retail chains in Kassel sold about a dozen products in compostable packaging, including diapers, biscuits and confectionery, starch-based carrier bags, knot bags for fruit and vegetables, party flatware and drinking cups, etc.

Using a new labeling system for biodegradable packaging (BDPs), all BDP packaging was marked with a hexagon for ready identification and separation by the consumers. A promotional campaign explained the meaning of the hexagon with the compostability symbol in its centre to the 200,000-strong population.

Extensive market research was performed to analyze consumers attitude to the new packaging and the method of recycling it. By the end of the scheme, 82 percent of Kassels population knew that the hexagon was the symbol for BDP packaging. This shows that the simple, unmistakable symbol and the back-up campaign were effective.

Cargill Dows mission, built solely around sustainability, is to be the leader in producing plastics from annually renewable resources, while remaining dedicated to meeting the world's needs today without compromising the earth's ability to meet the needs of tomorrow. The companys fresh-in-natural marketing strategy has created strong consumer response among its partners, helping the company to act as a catalyst to get others to operate in more sustainable ways.

And more(not for seq)

http://www.iom3.org/materialsworld/mar04/news.htm

UK to choose model environmental city
The UK, together with Austria, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Hungary, will demonstrate the marketing and environmental sustainability benefits of compostable plastics packaging made from renewable sources through the BIO-6-PACK project. This new EU-bioplastics initiative, which aims to facilitate the Europe-wide market introduction of new packaging technology, will this year involve the participating countries identifying a 'model' city where bioplastics products will be sold and subsequently collected in a separate waste stream. In the UK, the municipality of Bexley, Kent, has already been chosen as a model city. Following in the footsteps of the Kassel project, a scientific study on biopolymers carried out from 2001-2003, BIO-6-PACK will adopt a multi-stakeholder approach, including raw materials suppliers, converters, waste management companies, retailers, the food industry, government NGOs, media and consumers. The project will provide the opportunity to compare market opportunities and barriers in different economical, ecological and social environments, and will demonstrate how new packaging technology can be adapted to individual markets.
