THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Well, Clarke can say what he likes, he's on his bike anyway.

Not so some of the others, who may find themselves at odds with the local membership. Tricky.

Fred1new - 13 Dec 2016 09:09 - 75409 of 81564

Don't be ill over Xmas.

cynic - 13 Dec 2016 15:51 - 75410 of 81564

It seems that the Trump administration has already taken over if we go by the British media......change of attitude towards the Russians : everything's fine !.....we shall be great pals !......really ?....no more invading other countries by the bear....Georgia....Ukraine....Doping and such....Syria bombing innocent people...well.. well.. well...three holes in the ground !...how times have changed....or is it as I suspect a great way for the Americans to get out of a sticky situation where the Obama watch have to condemn the above and in the case of losing an election which they have, will be also happy to endorse the newcomers wiping the slate clean but can't actually say it publicly....suits republicans and democrats alike !....start with a clean sheet.....I wonder what it will be like in four years time ?.....the Kremlin must be buzzing at the moment with delight at the way things are going !...everybody's a winner except the those caught up in unwinnable conflicts against superior forces....

Obviously fred believes in the western propaganda that is being peddled
against Assad and Russia?....

We can look at recent history to prove what idiots we've got/had in charge
when the west wanted to install democracy in middle eastern countries, the
toppling of Saddam Hussein, Afghanistan, Libya and Gadafi...And now their
rabid desire to get rid of Assad, and the frenzied scaremongering against Russia,
and how they helped get Trump(not to mention Brexit,LOFL!) elected by hacking
into the voters computers, does that mean the west, ie the US and UK(an.others)
don't have the ability to do the same to Russians?..

ExecLine - 14 Dec 2016 11:31 - 75414 of 81564

Well, I am such a person who does believe quite a lot of the propaganda, which has 'been peddled against Assad and Russia'.

But there again, I only know of one certain enemy out there: ISIS.

There are those who strongly feel, that we should NOT have taken part in the Iraq war to oust Sadaam Hussein, nor should we have done so in Libya to oust Colonel Gadaffi. The basic reason for this type of comment, being mainly:

1. At least there was presently peace there before such an intervention.
2. After any 'ousting interventions', we had no proper plans in place for what would happen later.

From out there in Aleppo comes the following sort of news. Is it the truth or is it propaganda? I've given two sources for it, but actually, there is really only one, in that they are the same source.

From: https://www.facebook.com/BroAbdullateef/posts/678741122285486:0

and also: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/heartbreaking-suicide-note-aleppo-nurse-9454522

A letter written by one of the sisters in Aleppo right now to the scholars of the ummah and to the leaders of the opposition:

"I am one of the woman in Aleppo who will soon be raped in just moments..there are no more weapons or men that can stand between us and the animals who are about to come called the 'country's army'.
I don't want anything from you..I don't even want your supplication...as I am still able to speak I think my supplication is going to be more truthful than what you say!
I am committing suicide..and I don't care if you say I am in Hell-Fire!
I am committing suicide because i did not remain firm in my deceased father's home for all these years because his heart burned when he saw all those who left Aleppo..
I am committing suicide not due to no reason but because I do not want several members of the Assad Regime to savor raping me while just yesterday they were afraid to say the word 'Aleppo'.
I am committing suicide because the Day of Resurrection has taken place in Aleppo and I don't think Hell-Fire will be worse than this..
I am committing suicide and I know all of you will unite on my entering of Hell-Fire and that will be the only thing that you will unite upon: the suicide of a woman. Not your mother or sister or wife...but a woman you are not concerned about.
I will conclude by saying that your fatawa (verdicts) have become meaningless to me so save it for yourself and your family..
I am committing suicide..
And when you read this know that I have died pure despite everyone."

Haystack - 14 Dec 2016 12:49 - 75415 of 81564

People are now dying in Allepo now as a result of Ed Miliband's political cowardice. He had promised to support Cameron on the vote in 2013 to destroy Assad's chemical weapons and compromise his infrastructure. On the day of the vote Miliband reneged without warning, causing the vote to be lost. Obama did not have the support from the UK and abandoned the project. The resulting power vacuum and obvious inaction by the US allowed Russia to join forces with Assad with impunity.

The dead children in Allepo are a stain on Miliband and the Labour party. It was interesting to see Labour politicians yesterday wringing their hands and saying they were wrong. It was a one time opportunity to make a difference and Labour blew it

ExecLine - 14 Dec 2016 13:27 - 75416 of 81564

I'd actually forgotten that.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-23892783

Thanks for reminding me, Hays.

BUT: Thirty Conservative and nine Liberal Democrat MPs voted against the government's motion too.

grannyboy - 14 Dec 2016 14:14 - 75417 of 81564

If they had gone along and supported cameron, then the rebels and isis would
have been armed by us, but then again that's what the western leaders plans
are...The islamisation of the west...

You've got to understand that the savages and the followers need a strong
leader in charge to keep all the different sects of islam from killing each other.

Sadam Hussein/Assad/Gadafi were not perfect by any standards of imagination,
but they mostly kept their countries peacefull..

Cameron was quite prepared to supply arms to our enemies...But the west want
to harmonise the ME, for feck sake...

Fred1new - 14 Dec 2016 14:26 - 75418 of 81564

And quietly tortured and killed those who opposed them!

grannyboy - 14 Dec 2016 14:38 - 75419 of 81564

Yes there has to be victims for the greater good..

But little fred wouldn't understand that..

Haystack - 14 Dec 2016 15:00 - 75420 of 81564

gb
ISIS wouldn't have been armed. We were and are fighting rhem. Everyone in the region is opposed to ISIS.

Fred1new - 14 Dec 2016 16:24 - 75421 of 81564

GB.

Perhaps, you could forfeit your own life and those of your family for the greater good of others!

0-0-0

Haze,

Everyone?

Why does ISIS get their conscripts?

Perhaps, it is bred into them like some members of the Cons party!

grannyboy - 14 Dec 2016 16:28 - 75422 of 81564

Haystack..Rubbish!!

Even the white helmets have been accused of being in with isis..

grannyboy - 14 Dec 2016 16:33 - 75423 of 81564

I wouldn't have wanted to displace a leader whether a dictator or not, and
those with the mentality that they've got in the ME, they need a ruthless leader..

Haystack - 14 Dec 2016 17:36 - 75424 of 81564

gb
That's ridiculous. The rebels and ISIS are two separate groups and are fighting each other. The UN people on the ground might be sympathetic to the rebels but would not support ISIS. You must be reading the fake news web sites. I thought it was just the US that had a gullible population

grannyboy - 14 Dec 2016 18:56 - 75425 of 81564

I'm not reading any fake news web sites, unless you call the bbc, sky, rt,
etc, etc as being fake news sites, but then again most of them are, I just
put it all together and filter by what sounds common sense, feasably possible.

As to the rebels and isis being two seperate groups, for a start there isn't
just one rebel side, and some 'rebel' groups have been shown to belong to
isis, and the west was keen to give arms to ANY that was just opposed to
Assad...

grannyboy - 14 Dec 2016 19:01 - 75426 of 81564

And the UN are a discredited organisation, they don't have anyone in the
effected area's and just take the propaganda pictures put out by those terror
run outfits like the white helmets as gospel..

Haystack - 14 Dec 2016 19:32 - 75427 of 81564

I can see why cynic has gb filtered. I filtered Fred a couple of years ago and have not missed him.

I am adding gb to my filter list. I will not miss the nonsense he posts.
