THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Snowing in London for last hour

MaxK - 12 Jan 2017 19:21 - 75719 of 81564

EL

I'm not sure what you are talking about...do you?

Oh my god a snowflake in London , army will be on the streets by noon.

It's so funny watching London trying to cope with what many parts of the country have to cope with numerous times each winter.

Bet it's the lead story on the BBC news channel too !

Dil - 13 Jan 2017 09:12 - 75721 of 81564

Haystack , snowed on and off for over 12 hours here since yesterday lunchtime.

Took me an hour and a half to get out of Guildford last night! I've never had an energy deal, with BG for both so probably paying through the nose for energy.

Haystack - 13 Jan 2017 11:03 - 75723 of 81564

Only snowed here for about 40 minutes. We coped.

Another Blairite jumping the sinking ship, plus Hunts constituents voted to
LEAVE in the referendum, so looks like he's getting out before he was kicked
out by UKIP in next GE...

He's taken early retirement, even though he's never had a proper job in his life.

O'bama's last betrayal against Israel before he leaves office...

But that WILL change when Trump takes over, to end the islamist expansion
into Israel itself..

Dil - 13 Jan 2017 20:39 - 75728 of 81564

Lol , nice one Haystack good job it didn't snow for an hour :-)

iturama - 14 Jan 2017 16:02 - 75729 of 81564

Its nice to know we have hardened characters like you in the capital Hays, ready to cope with any emergency. I had to pass through the Peoples Republic of Islington yesterday. My bank is on Islington High Street but I haven't been back in years. Anyhow, at the border I was advised that there is a 20 mph speed limit in all of the republic. First to ever do so it proclaims. For safety's sake. Hardly necessary since my average speed passing through was less than 10 mph. Kamikaze cyclists by the dozen but not a snowflake in sight. Not even Jeremy.

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2017 18:03 - 75730 of 81564

Were they hiding from you?

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2017 18:11 - 75731 of 81564

Haystack - 14 Jan 2017 19:28 - 75732 of 81564

Quite a few areas in London are now 20 mph. Fine on side roads but a but silly on main roads and bus routes. I remember driving in Canada in Saskatchewan where my parents lived for a while. The side roads in the tow were 15 mph. My father's car was a Ford Fairlane. So big you could walk around in the boot. Quite difficult to drive that slowly.

I still have my Explorer that I brought from the States. 5 litre engine. Petrol was less than a $1 a (US) gallon at the time. I rarely use it now except for transporting my dogs. Could (almost) fit a husky pack in the back.

Sounds like UKIP and the followers.
