Had a bigger demonstration than that in our school yard back in the 70's when we were locked out in the rain because the teachers were on a work to rule.

There was someone on Sky news earlier trying to explain why there is
just seven countries like Iraq etc on the banned list, and not more like
Saudi Arabia at al.

The reason being those seven countries do NOT supply the security details
that are needed in the vetting proccess, unlike Saudi Arabia and others..

The White House says Sally Yates "betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order" to "protect" Americans.

Accordingly, Donald Trump has fired the acting US Attorney General Sally Yates, after she defied him over his controversial travel ban.

Ms Yates had ordered Justice Department lawyers not to enforce the US President's immigration ban targeting seven Muslim-majority nations.

The White House said that she would be replaced by Dana Boente, who is currently US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

The President also sacked acting director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Daniel Ragsdale, without giving a reason why. Thomas Holman was announced as his acting replacement.

Ms Yates, who had been appointed by former Democratic President Barack Obama, told Justice Department lawyers in a letter on Monday that they would not defend Mr Trump's travel order in court.

President Donald Trump's immigration order was so boorish, purposely hostile and ill-conceived that it has obscured an inconvenient truth for many of those who oppose it: The U.S. was refusing entry to many Muslims long before he took office.

In a statement Sunday night, Trump said his choice of seven countries -- Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen -- matched those singled out by the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act, which was passed under President Barack Obama.

Far short of a ban -- and far from stranding green card holders and dual citizens at the border -- that legislation required dual citizens of those countries and anyone who traveled there to apply for a visa to enter the U.S. But the fact remains that these countries were first formally singled out as potential threats under Obama, not Trump.

he may be a pretty obnoxious character, but no more so than many others such as the recent visit of the chinese premier (or whoever it was) and others before him
at the end of the day, trump is (just) the figurehead of what is almost inarguably the most important and longest standing ally of the last 100 years

Germany is using a “grossly undervalued” euro to exploit the US and its EU partners, Donald Trump’s top trade adviser has said in comments that are likely to trigger alarm in Europe’s largest economy.
Peter Navarro, the head of Mr Trump’s new National Trade Council, told the Financial Times the euro was like an “implicit Deutsche Mark” whose low valuation gave Germany an advantage over its main trading partners. His views suggest the new administration is focusing on currency as part of its hard-charging approach on trade ties.

Navarro is correct. Germany has been the main beneficiary of the Euro. I have said before that to save the Euro, Germany should exit.
There is now a petition reaffirming that Trump should visit the UK.
