mcbainn - 24 May 2005 16:55 - 85 of 1643

Advan, do you have access to blimps (and I don't mean fat people) regarding the ad campaign? As mentioned earlier one floating about overhead for the cricket matches wouldn't go a miss. Any idea what are the rules regarding blimps for advertising?

peteark - 24 May 2005 17:09 - 86 of 1643

Mcbainn.........you got the 2 on squelch m8?

I believe Ad does have blimps, but he has told me they are tosh for advertising.

mcbainn - 24 May 2005 17:19 - 87 of 1643

Pete, Yep right from the start as I did on the old advf n. Although mainly an observer I couldn't even bear to read the responses to them, it all got very boring!

FLOPPYJOE - 24 May 2005 17:21 - 88 of 1643

So this is where you have gone. What the hell has been going on.I just looked in on the other side and see all hell has broken loose.Im still looking to top up at these daft prices. Will these threads be any different though as i see Mr Haystack has joined in here as well.

Haystack - 24 May 2005 17:21 - 89 of 1643

I doubt that any sort of advertsiing would help CCR. Their calling method is so strange that many people will be put of by it. What a hastle having to register every number that you want to call. Every other calling system has a system that works for any destination in the world.

advans - 24 May 2005 17:23 - 90 of 1643

Just crawled from the sick bed!

McBainn, yes, I do stock blimps and as Pete says, as an advertising tool they are not the best, they are more locationary devices. In other words, follow the string to the bottom and you will find us.

Saying that, if they just had the website on, for branding it would be great.

I do quite a bit for Tesco and when they open a new store, they always have one for 2 weeks. You can read TESCO great, when they downsized it all to fit on NEW GARAGE NOW OPEN, it lost the impact!

They are 16ft long and I can usually get the letters for one line up to about 3-4ft, so small www CHEAPERCALLRATE com would work well.

mcbainn - 24 May 2005 17:23 - 91 of 1643

Just come back from Manchester airport to Hull and trailer advertising beside the M'way seems more commonplace than ever. Forgot to ask, why are the old blimps tosh?

Haystack - 24 May 2005 17:24 - 92 of 1643

FLOPPYJOE
No. They have joined me here. I was posting on EVS long before they arrived.

EVS is looking pretty weak wouldn't you say. Don't bother to reply if you agree with me.

advans - 24 May 2005 17:24 - 93 of 1643

Floppy, read the last paragraph on the header then follow the instructions!!!

We are probably in the best position now to exercise this as each new person comes on board. It will work if we police it from the start! It's down to getting everybody to see the benefits!

mcbainn - 24 May 2005 17:26 - 94 of 1643

Thanks advan, just a thought.

advans - 24 May 2005 17:30 - 95 of 1643

MCb, the trailer advertising willl be short lived, councils are all objecting and issuing enforcements, it will only be amatter of time before there will be no areas left.
Luckily, that will have little impact on me as I also have a mobile fleet which are exempt from those situations.

Envesta used the mobile in London when CCR launched, it was quite nice to see such a large board tinkering through the Asian areas of the capital with young fillies (and an older bearded one) handing out leaflets!
