Thought I'd start a new thread as this is going to be a major talking point this year...have not made up my mind yet...(unlike bucksfizz)....but thinking of voting for an exit as Europe is not doing Britain any good at all it seems....

If the other 15,188,405 leave voters think like that, Major Tom, you'd best call Ground Control and tell 'em there's something wrong. :o)

Why do I feel that we have blinked first and it will embolden the EU to keep offering nothing and grind us down, as is their way.

May is a disaster, she is so useless it beggars belief.
Everything she touches turns to shit. And Boris is right behind her.

May was given the Tory leadership as she was referendum light. Now its all unraveling before our eyes UK will still be in EU for ever in a different guise. No point voting anymore as Red Ken said in his book years ago.

The Referendum showed me that Members of Parliament were totally out of touch with the fundamental wishes of many English citizens. Maybe they want jollies overseas and hope that one day they can join the gravy-train of MEPs when their lacklustre performance is exposed? If Europe is giving us all the Laws and Regulations - what purpose does Parliament have? We could save all the money from running Parliament Commons and HoL and pay our wounded ex-servicemen plus Disabled civilians a decent amount.... instead we pay Lords a fee for turning-up and shifting back home...
Had the Referendum gone the other way (= Stay), then we should have closed Parliament for good. The building would become a reminder of a Bygone Age.
No British Business should be taken-over by foreigners.... if they want to get a slice of the profits, they can invest like anyone else in the stock market..... with the proviso that no foreign ownership, or Trust etc. can exceed 29% - I wonder that as a company expands and becomes important that the Workers shouldn't be encouraged to buy shares . . . the only downside being that if too much of their wealth is in their workplace, then should it go belly-up they would likely loose too much for a satisfactory retirement.

The United Kingdom will cease to be a member of the European Union on 29th March 2019.
We will no longer sit at the European Council table or in the Council of Ministers, and we will no longer have Members of the European Parliament. Our relations with countries outside the EU can be developed in new ways, including through our own trade negotiations, because we will no longer be an EU country, and we will no longer directly benefit from the EU’s future trade negotiations.
Those lines in Maggie May's speech are what turn Brexit from a two-player game into a three-player game and potentially enable the UK to finish the game ahead. The lady's done you a massive favour, and you still don't get it. You've just gotta hope that Barnier and co agree to those terms.

I am glad we have a definite pathway and policy which the Brexiters and some of the con party can unite behind and we have the reemergence of strong stable government led by Theresa!
Anyway, we can always blame and scapegoat the Bolshies for our incompetence.
