It does seem to be the case though, that when someone is faced with the cancer diagnosis, they are so frightened that they almost unfailingly go for the chemo - something they know doesn't work.


As a recently diagnosed cancer patient, I concur with your statement. I was a rabbit in headlights. However as I have been quite lucky to have had the time to think before any procedure / treatment, I have opted for only the operation to remove, which was a compromise in itself. As for the rest of the follow up treatments, radio therapy, chemo and the wonder drug, I have declined.

Thanks to the internet and YouTube, there is so much available to us now so that we can access all the info and make the right decision for ourselves. This of course is the stuff big pharma does not want us to know about.

Rodspotty, one of the posters on the SCLP board in another place, has kept himself alive for about 10 years in stage 4 melanoma with a very disciplined regime and diet. He is experiencing a few problems lately, which he is addressing with more 'alternatives'. I believe the average survival for stage 4 melanoma is 3 or 4 months.

Thanks mabel. I am not too worried as it's still in a very early stage primary breast cancer and only small.
The route they'd like me to take is operation first, followed 30 days later with 20 sessions of radio therapy, followed by the wonder drug (I am HER2+ which means my body accepts the meds.) in combination with chemo.

The last 2 stages is all to prevent it coming back.........

I have declined these last 2 stages for obvious reasons. This caused some bother at home, but we have struck a compromise :-)

The financial elite - need to - "externalise" - some sort of large, very large, nay perhaps - even armageddon event

Morning everyone. looks like we have a correction in pm's, which is a good thing as we were running a bit ahead of ourselves. I hope everyone is still stacking if and when possible. Every little helps as they say.
I've put an order in for a few Australian lunar series horses 2014.
Most of the time i just buy the cheapest coin available, you know for pension or shtf purposes but I also like to build up the series collections as well.
Same for the Canadian wildlife series, amazing how certain items of that have risen in price.
Try and find me a 2011 wolf for under £40 Of course i do bear in mind that in 2011 most people who bought coins did it in the run up to $49 silver, so paid a heck of a lot more than the $26 or less paid in the last 6 months.
They'll probably come out of the wood work when silver hits $100 :-)

Tomorrow it's holiday time for me. A couple of weeks chilling out before the first chapter of the road to recovery starts. Fuerteventura again as we love it there, and the weather is virtually guaranteed.

Gaz, no doubt you'll hold the fort for a while until it's your turn to soak up some rays.
