THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Technology knows no ends. Case in point: sex robot brothels might soon be a thing.

Lumidolls, the company behind Europe’s first sex doll brothel, opened a venue in Barcelona, where customers can get intimate with sex dolls.

But it was forced to close one month later after a backlash from prostitutes, and reopened in a mystery venue. Now, it's looking to send its dolls further afield.

The company say:

'We are currently in the process of expanding and looking for more franchisees in other countries.'

Apparently, they're looking for an investor in the UK.

Brothels are illegal in the UK, so sex dolls offer a legal loophole.

Customers apparently pay around £67 for half an hour with a doll. The dolls can be dressed according to the customers’ taste, and can wait for the customer in a particular pose on request.

And watch this space, because LumiDolls says “erotic robots” will soon be available, too, adding that they have an agreement with a maker of sex robots.

Hmmm? Thinks.......

Would it be possible to make more investing in this, than it would be investing in FEVR?

a nice relaxing G+T (Fevertree tonic of course) will be of offer after your bit of R&R

actually, there was a a radio slot on this technology on the wireless just a day or two ago
apparently they currently cost about £10,000 each but price should drop sharply into the future

I will first explain how 'Wheeler Dealers' is one of my favourite TV shows. My wife likes it too and she tells me she likes the two main characters, Mike Brewer (project manager and sales) and Edd China (the expert mechanic) and she tells me she finds it quite educational.

Mike finds a car which needs attention, buys it, gets it back to the workshop and then Edd sorts all the problems out and which are often quite diverse. They operate with a 'profit' in mind and always sell the car at the end of the show. Seeing as how they don't cost in Edd's labour, this usually happens too. They have done around 150 (give or take) different programs - or bought and sold 150 (give or take) different cars. This also means, that there is usually a problem or a vehicle in one or more shows which is historically pertinent to you, the viewer. This all adds to the interest and fascination of the TV programme.

Now every so often I hit the YouTube link on my Favourites Bar just to see what's new.

In doing so, I've just found out, that Edd disagreed with the direction Mike and a new production team wanted to take things and how Edd has decided not to compromise, what he feels is his own 'essence', and has decided to go his own separate way and leave the show which will continue, but in a different vein and with a new mechanic.

Here is Edd China explaining what has happened on YouTube:

Just learning how to open the bonnet is a major educational experience for most women XL. The money is in the sale of the program, ie advertiser interest, not the sale of the cars. If the tv channels says freshen up your act, the producers freshen up their act. Simples.

Whats this about diane flabott getting her sums wrong?

There's talk that Labour will say anything because they know they've got no
chance in hell of forming the next government, so they intend to keep spouting
policies that cost the earth to implement but it pleases those socialist like little
fred in their deluded lives...

iturama - 02 May 2017 11:20 - 76618 of 81564

Dianne Abbott in another crash interview today. First it would cost £300k for 10,000 PCSOs over 4 years, then when queried, changed it to £80M. Corbyn has since corrected it to £300M. My own guestimate is that it will cost at least £25k per officer per year once uniforms, equipment, training, and payroll overheads and liabilities are included. That is a minimum of £250M per year, probably closer to £300M. Labour were never very good at budgeting. Remember the "no more money left" note.
Then an "expert" from Liverpool's John Moores University informed us that the extra officers would make us "more safer". No, he wasn't an immigrant with english as a second language. I am more convinced than ever that grammer schools should return and half the so called universities closed and converted back to technical colleges.

She's bullet proof isn't she , certain to win her ward , someone like that should be eased out not to be seen again .

ExecLine - 02 May 2017 13:31 - 76620 of 81564

I can never understand Andrew Neil having Diane Abbott on permanently (with Michael Portillo) on his 'This Week' TV programme. Of course, she has now been replaced.

Back then she did have some notoriety as a free speaking 'Labour Rebel' and ex-Tory MP Portillo had also quit the Conservatives back in 2005. Thus neither were afraid to be politically contentious.

cynic - 02 May 2017 16:10 - 76621 of 81564

very badly indeed, but then tories' boast about police funding etc is also a load of bollocks and ditto on education

tosser abbott may be, but my son who lives in her constituency, says she's a first class local mp

Laurenrose - 02 May 2017 16:42 - 76622 of 81564

cynic so what has done for him . not sex I hope

grannyboy - 02 May 2017 17:16 - 76623 of 81564

I've been around for a number of years, and i've never seen an MP do very
much for a constituency or make a difference to peoples everyday lives,
the only people who go to these mp's surgeries are those who just like a moan
or some 'asylum seeker' who's in the process of being sent back from where
he came, and all their appeals have been rejected, and they want the sympathatic
ear, which includes dragging in the local news station..

Otherwise those who have a problem usually goes to Citizens Advice.

Haystack - 02 May 2017 19:50 - 76624 of 81564

A couple of years ago my son worked for an MP who was a cabinet minister. He was a constituency worker. It is clear that Abbott does nothing. A large number of queries, complaints and requests for help come in every day by post, email and phone. They are all dealt with by the constituency staff. The staff contact councils, government departments and respond to the public. At no stage does the MP get involved.

MaxK - 02 May 2017 23:38 - 76625 of 81564

Quite right too!

MP's are far too busy with their 2nd, third, fourth et al jobs to have any interest in the plebs problems.

That's just for show..

VICTIM - 03 May 2017 07:31 - 76626 of 81564
