THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Whats this about diane flabott getting her sums wrong?

There's talk that Labour will say anything because they know they've got no
chance in hell of forming the next government, so they intend to keep spouting
policies that cost the earth to implement but it pleases those socialist like little
fred in their deluded lives...

Dianne Abbott in another crash interview today. First it would cost £300k for 10,000 PCSOs over 4 years, then when queried, changed it to £80M. Corbyn has since corrected it to £300M. My own guestimate is that it will cost at least £25k per officer per year once uniforms, equipment, training, and payroll overheads and liabilities are included. That is a minimum of £250M per year, probably closer to £300M. Labour were never very good at budgeting. Remember the "no more money left" note.
Then an "expert" from Liverpool's John Moores University informed us that the extra officers would make us "more safer". No, he wasn't an immigrant with english as a second language. I am more convinced than ever that grammer schools should return and half the so called universities closed and converted back to technical colleges.

She's bullet proof isn't she , certain to win her ward , someone like that should be eased out not to be seen again .

I can never understand Andrew Neil having Diane Abbott on permanently (with Michael Portillo) on his 'This Week' TV programme. Of course, she has now been replaced.

Back then she did have some notoriety as a free speaking 'Labour Rebel' and ex-Tory MP Portillo had also quit the Conservatives back in 2005. Thus neither were afraid to be politically contentious.

cynic - 02 May 2017 16:10 - 76621 of 81564

very badly indeed, but then tories' boast about police funding etc is also a load of bollocks and ditto on education

tosser abbott may be, but my son who lives in her constituency, says she's a first class local mp

Laurenrose - 02 May 2017 16:42 - 76622 of 81564

cynic so what has done for him . not sex I hope

grannyboy - 02 May 2017 17:16 - 76623 of 81564

I've been around for a number of years, and i've never seen an MP do very
much for a constituency or make a difference to peoples everyday lives,
the only people who go to these mp's surgeries are those who just like a moan
or some 'asylum seeker' who's in the process of being sent back from where
he came, and all their appeals have been rejected, and they want the sympathatic
ear, which includes dragging in the local news station..

Otherwise those who have a problem usually goes to Citizens Advice.

Haystack - 02 May 2017 19:50 - 76624 of 81564

A couple of years ago my son worked for an MP who was a cabinet minister. He was a constituency worker. It is clear that Abbott does nothing. A large number of queries, complaints and requests for help come in every day by post, email and phone. They are all dealt with by the constituency staff. The staff contact councils, government departments and respond to the public. At no stage does the MP get involved.

MaxK - 02 May 2017 23:38 - 76625 of 81564

Quite right too!

MP's are far too busy with their 2nd, third, fourth et al jobs to have any interest in the plebs problems.

That's just for show..

VICTIM - 03 May 2017 07:31 - 76626 of 81564

We haven't heard from you much lately Hays , what's your thoughts on the situation regards May , election result , etc .

Laurenrose - 03 May 2017 08:56 - 76627 of 81564

abbot the face of the labour party , if you love the uk then do not destroy it by voting labour . they will give away the uk to anyone who wants to take it over
under labour their will be no safe place to live your children will never get a job never get a home . but will be able to go begging

Dil - 03 May 2017 09:02 - 76628 of 81564

The prospect of Diane Abbott as our next Home Secretary epitomises why so many Labour voters won't be voting Labour this time round.

What a clueless prat she is but doing a great job for the Conservative campaign.

The fuss over the dinner at number 10 seems to be part of a strategy by some in the EU to interfere with our GE. They would be happier to be dealing with a weak Corbyn. Expect more supposed leaks showing May as Delusional. The EU is trying to stoke pressure for a second referendum. The last thing the EU wants is large majority for May.

The EU is experiencing the five stages of bereavement; denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Not sure how far they have got.

Latest #GE2017 poll*

CON = -75%
LAB = 28,000%
LDEM = 30 miles per hour
UKIP = 2 apples + 3 bananas

*Commissioned by Diane Abbott
