Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

I've been around for a number of years, and i've never seen an MP do very
much for a constituency or make a difference to peoples everyday lives,
the only people who go to these mp's surgeries are those who just like a moan
or some 'asylum seeker' who's in the process of being sent back from where
he came, and all their appeals have been rejected, and they want the sympathatic
ear, which includes dragging in the local news station..
Otherwise those who have a problem usually goes to Citizens Advice.

A couple of years ago my son worked for an MP who was a cabinet minister. He was a constituency worker. It is clear that Abbott does nothing. A large number of queries, complaints and requests for help come in every day by post, email and phone. They are all dealt with by the constituency staff. The staff contact councils, government departments and respond to the public. At no stage does the MP get involved.

Quite right too!
MP's are far too busy with their 2nd, third, fourth et al jobs to have any interest in the plebs problems.
That's just for show..

The prospect of Diane Abbott as our next Home Secretary epitomises why so many Labour voters won't be voting Labour this time round.
What a clueless prat she is but doing a great job for the Conservative campaign.

The fuss over the dinner at number 10 seems to be part of a strategy by some in the EU to interfere with our GE. They would be happier to be dealing with a weak Corbyn. Expect more supposed leaks showing May as Delusional. The EU is trying to stoke pressure for a second referendum. The last thing the EU wants is large majority for May.
The EU is experiencing the five stages of bereavement; denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Not sure how far they have got.

It's still in denial at the moment which will move to anger sometime after June 8th when the country gives May massive backing for her Brexit negotiations and the EU realise there is no turning back and she tells them where to shove their leaving bill.

as i am sure will be pointed out by others, the tories are indeed likely to get a majority of >30 seats, and perhaps many more, but if so, much will be due to disillusionment or distaste of corbyn and the hard left unions and similar
there's certainly a great many other issues (health, education, police etc) than brexit that need urgent attention
however, i think brexit must take precedence, as the outcome of those negotiations will have a direct and significant impact on how the rest of the economy can be managed
assuredly some difficult times (years) ahead
