Stanelco plc announces update re trials with Asda
Stanelco, the RF (radio frequency) applications group is pleased to announce
that it has now received the results of the initial stability trials that have
been carried out in conjunction with Asda and one of its dedicated suppliers.
The results have demonstrated product packed across the whole of a specific
fresh food category have been taken to the end of customer life have proved
exceptional results in relation to odour and visual of raw foods and odour,
visual and taste of cooked foods.
Gas Analysis has also been exceptional in clearly demonstrating organoleptic
acceptability and analysis results which further demonstrates the benefits of RF
Technology to the food Industry.
The stability trials were carried out on food trays made from a single polyester
material and sealed using Stanelco's technology using a polyester film lid. The
equipment used to seal the trays was a conventional tray-lidding machine which
had been retrofitted with Stanelco's technology. The trays contained a
well-known foodstuff packed in a protective, inert, atmosphere.
Ian Balchin, Chief Executive of Stanelco commented:
'This is an important step on the road to commercialisation. It demonstrates
that laminated materials can be replaced with more economic, recyclable
materials sealed using Stanelco's revolutionary energy-efficient technology and
paves the way for in-store retailing trials and on to full commercialisation.'
Stanelco also announces that its Preliminary Results for the year ended 31
October 2004 will be announced on 28 February 2005.
