These parks get their grass cut - and that's about all. No one apparently 'manages' the man on the machine. He is probably the employee of a Council contractor.

In the parks, there is loads of work required:

Dead trees, dead branches, litter, unsuitable litter bins, debris of all kinds in various lakes, pot-holes in paths, blocked streams and dykes, ivy on trees in copses, dead ash trees that had ash chalara dieback, thta need removing, the list goes on and on.

These parks are not managed by any seemingly qualified person. Neither are the contractors. Nor the contractors staff.

And this is just local government. National government is tons worse.

our own local council does a pretty good job i reckon, though the cost of parking is exorbitant

Parks Superintendent or supervision: Maybe.

The centre of town needs tons and tons of paving slabs pointing. It needs some of them 'turning over' or some but not all replacing first before the pointing job starts. My estimate of cost is circa £100k, maybe much less. I'll double it up to £200k.

But I'll just mention, that one of the streets off the centre of town has had £3m spent on about 200 yds of its length. Totally OTT!

Maybe Tanker and I should "get in on some of the action" and see if we can't get some "free foreign travel with expenses paid" or maybe our "gardens landscaped for free" or maybe a "property extension built for free" or some "lease payments on the wife's car for free" or maybe even a "couple or three consultancies for £5k a month".

That would be smart, wouldn't it? And then I'd not worry about losing my Heating Allowance at all.
