I watched this on ATR today, was hilarious. Red hot favourite doesn't even trouble the field and was a heavy drifter in the market. Of course I and no doubt others would have spotted this and taken advantage.

Suddenly everybody starts asking questions and Curley starts mouthing off on camera about how wrong it is that he is being accused. Towards the end of the altercation McCririck says to Barney, "So your horse is a heavy odds on favourtie. Did you back it?" Silence then "No..." bumbling excuses follow. John should have asked, did you lay it? Would have been a better question.

A fantasic opporunity for the asute but a bummer for favourite backers.

Curley furious after Cristoforo defeat

BARNEY CURLEY was involved in a heated on-air exchange with racing pundit John McCririck after the defeat of the Newmarket trainer's Cristoforo at Folkestone on Friday.

Curley appeared on At The Races following his horse's disappointing runin the Association Of Post Natal Illness Handicap Hurdle.

Cristoforo, who was forecast to be a hot favourite, drifted on the betting exchanges throughout the morning and also eased in the on-course market.

The eight-year-old was never travelling well for Paul Moloney and was pulled up before the final flight.

McCririck believed the matter should have been referred to the Jockey Club for investigation by the local stewards.

He and presenter Luke Harvey discussed the performance on TV, and were then involved in an altercation with an irate Curley.

I missed the next race because the on air tussle was so funny.

an interesting one for you. Corals offer some guaranteed prices until 10.15 on a saturday in their shops.

Korelo today (2.35 at cheltenham), they quoted at 14-1 and guaranteed this price until 10.15. On betfair you could lay 2000 between 11.5 and 12.5 - surely a nice opportunity here (if you have a coral shop nearby)

Phew, First match down for the day. A nightmare watching a team you support. Trying to stay unemotional was pretty much impossible!! However, I kept my discipline right through, aside from dropping my laptop a couple of times.

Got caught by the penalty whilst backing the draw. Suppose it had to happen eventually. Though a risky strategy, it still pays in the long run.

I just can't fathom the odds on the races today. Just seems to be doing the opposite of what it should.

Harlosh, sorry to hear you got caught out. I know exactly how it feels as I got stung pretty badly last night on the Bristol v Ch'field game last night. Even though it hurts I see it as part of the learning curve. It will also keep my feet firmly on the ground too. I shouldn't take on strageties that are too risky and stick to Scrip's basics.

Yep, you're not wrong there. Suppose you have to take the rough with the smooth. I only wish I had 100 on it too. Unfortunately, it was a bit more than that but you'd fall off your chair if I told you the exact amount!
