Well, I've been thinking about it a fair bit and, with a DUP alliance, TM is actually in about the same sort of position now as she was before the Election.

Before she had a majority of 12.

I think there is one more result to come in but, excluding that, it's as follows:

Conservative 318
Democratic Unionist Party 10

Total 328

Labour 261
Scottish National Party 35
Liberal Democrat 12
Sinn Fein 7
Plaid Cymru 4
Green Party 1

Total 320

So with the DUP on board, she now has a majority of 8 as against 12 previously.

I think it will be an excellent match. For instance:

The DUP wants to end the supremacy of the EU’s highest court and argues that Britain should regain the freedom to make global trade deals, which would require leaving the EU’s single market — something Ms May also hopes to do.

There are a few differences but they should help the tories soften things up a fair bit, IMHO.

This has to be the biggest waste of time election ever.

As you say exec we are near enough in the same position as before with the one big exception being Scottish independence which is now off the table for the foreseeable future.

So sad that Corbyn the clown will now be around for longer than anyone imagined.

And we will have to witness JC a bit 'up himself' and 'lording it' across the floor of the house when he comes back.

I wager that when the dust settles we will still be lead by idiots(of any party)) who prefer going around in circles to walking the straight and honest line towards getting things right for the sake of the nation.

It's all rather ironic how our politicians, again of any party, seem to put self interest before national interest.

Boris Johnson is now favorite to be the next Tory leader - and has already repeatedly refused to back Theresa May after her election nightmare.

The outspoken Foreign Secretary was asked if he believes Mrs May should be Prime Minister but would only say 'it's early days' after retaining his Uxbridge seat.

He also stayed silent when a reporter suggested that the Tory leader was 'fatally wounded' - and then appeared not to hear when another journalist asked him: 'Does your party need a new leader? Is it you?'

The knives are already out for the Tory leader after a dismal campaign, a series of policy blunders and a manifesto now branded the party's 'worst ever'.

IMHO, a 'Vote of no confidence in the PM' would not succeed if we do get a DUP/Tory alliance. If BJ were to try to bring one and it failed, then he would be 'out on his ear'.

Also, he has been seen to be a bit of a 'buffoon' during these last few months. If May were to go, I'm not sure we would want him to replace her.

TM is a bit 'wooden' but Boris can get himself into the most daft messes. So much so, that he has to be described as 'being a bit of a loose cannon'.

Just imagine BJ face to face with DT.

Hi Chris I have not been anywhere, I just saw the headline of this thread and thought it was relevant as that's exactly what I seem to be doing where I do make a post or two.

But then that said, nothing different as I have been talking to myself for years at home only the dog seems to listen and then it's only at supper time.

But it's still a great life and popping in here may be a good exercise, we shall see!

Yes Max where is Hays ; since Treesa got elected he sort of slinked off , i wonder if he wasn't a fan and saw something . Although he can be bitterly one sided . iturama has been quiet like to know what he thinks too , though i suspect he may speechless .
