THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

labour party , condemn the conservatives over doing deals with the dup because of their views on gays , yet the labour party suck up to the muslims who kill people because they are gay ,

so why is labour sucking to muslims who will never except gays .

I WOULD SOONER HAVE THE DUP ON MY SIDE THAN ANY LABOUR/LIB

Tim Price: "The UK Today Feels Like A Very Strange & Disturbing Place"

by Tyler Durden

If you have been voting for politicians who promise to give you goodies at someone else’s expense, then you have no right to complain when they take your money and give it to someone else, including themselves.

-Economist Thomas Sowell

It is difficult to know where to begin.

In our election last week, 262 British parliamentary seats fell to a party led by Jeremy Corbyn, a self-confessed Socialist.

Corbyn has also publicly supported the IRA, Hizbollah and Hamas.

Yet his message attracted 12.9 million votes while the United Kingdom is under attack by terrorists. It simply beggars belief.

Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, the British Secret Intelligence Service, points out that Corbyn, who seeks the office of Prime Minister, would not be cleared to join either his former agency, or GCHQ, or MI5 (the British equivalents of NSA/FBI).

latest news on CLIMATE CHANGE PROGRAME , Germany burning billions of tons of coal
and going to build another 6 coal fired stations over the next 4 years .

all against eu rules on CO2 so JAPAN have now stated TRUMP is correct the eu telling other counties to close their coal fired stations so JAPAN may has well start to build coal fired stations ,

japan says if the main country in the eu puts its two fingers up to the climate change deal then we will ignore it along with the USA trump is correct if coal is the climate problem why is the eu doing nothing to stop GERMANY BUILDING MORE STATIONS WHEN BY THEIR RULES SHOULD BE CLOSING THEM

COME ON YOU ENVIRONMENTLISTS ANSWER THE QUESTION

Fred1new - 13 Jun 2017 13:42 - 77822 of 81564

You spell it blown.

Unlucky 13th county.

cynic - 13 Jun 2017 13:51 - 77823 of 81564

you're right fred; i haven't heard this broadcast, but have in the past, and john major is very interesting to listen to, regardless of whether or not you agree with him

Excellent points, Tanker.

Having proudly started my working life off at 'Europe's biggest power station', situated on the River Trent, and when it was commissioned in 1959, I found it puzzling and sad to see it shut down in 2003, just 44 years later and then completely demolished in 2012.

On full tilt, it used to burn 200 tons of coal per hour, generating 1000MWs per hour and keeping several collieries going.

There were several, even bigger power stations built on the Trent about 50 years ago. I think just a couple of them survive today. I haven't checked up on it, but I think they either import wood pellets or alternatively maybe burn North Sea gas.

In doing all of this, we lost two important industries: Coal and Electricity. We chose to buy it from elsewhere.

Hmmm? Daft or wot?

cynic - 13 Jun 2017 14:31 - 77825 of 81564

however, and as you say, these power stations were built 50 years ago
ecological arguments apart, they had probably already seen out their commercially viable life

Laurenrose - 13 Jun 2017 14:35 - 77826 of 81564

cynic no they were built to last over 100 years by having shut downs to refit .

this happened ever 3 years ,

Germany have broken the paris agreement and then they condemn trump you could not make it up

GERMANY BUILDING MORE COAL STATIONS BUT TELLING THE WORLD THEY CAN NOT
SO NOW JAPAN HAVE SAID FCUK THE EU

Laurenrose - 13 Jun 2017 14:40 - 77827 of 81564

EX ANOTHER DUMB MOVE BY THE EU ,

the burning of wooden pellets are far worse than coal twice as bad for co2

fact , its all their to read

Germany have said bollocks japan and the USA should ignore the eu liars

Is Germany's Green Revolution about to turn black with coal dust?
As the country moves away from nuclear, the builders of coal-fired power stations are moving into action.
When Chancellor Merkel announced the closure of all the country's 17 nuclear reactors by 2022, there were loud cheers from environmentalists.
But less well heard were the cheers
