Is's certainly something on the outside of the building , look at the way the flames have spread upwards very quickly , straight up . It won't take much to find out the cause .

the gap behind would act like funnel and that is what has happened not seal on ever level its murder . workers paid by amount not by doing a proper job , its called hit and miss more miss than hit

Apparently, there is a strong possibility the fire was started and spread externally from the external polystyrene cladding and that it quickly spread upwards as the cladding fixing method, being spaced away from the external wall, acted like a funnel.

There is also a strong possibility, that there was no internal fire prevention system in the block (sprinkler system) or fire alarm system.

The only fire exit was also the only entrance to the building.

If anyone or organisation wanted to spend 10million pounds to redesign a block of flats to fail if a fire broke out, then this was an example of how to achieve that end.

This major incident reminds me of the "Homes for Votes scandal" in the 80s by Westminster Tory council and in particular Shirley Porter who was described by Andrew Hosken and Nicholas Lezard in the following terms: "She remains, by a considerable margin, the most corrupt British public figure in living memory."
