i was in calais just a few weeks ago, and pass through it pretty much every time we go on one of our cycling trips
though sangatte could scarcely be described as picturesque, i have never seen any sign of this refugee's camp nor anything similar ..... it must be well hidden from view

I thought they tore it down , might be wrong .

they did, but have been through sangatte on numerous occasions

They have moved up to Dunkerque ,or some of them have ,i think there are a few at Calais and the police are there every night trying to stop them getting on Trucks .

i'm pretty sure it started on 4th floor, though i suppose that closer to the ground than the 24th!

the fire most likely started from an electric or gas fault, but that is not the question
the question is why it spread so frighteningly fast, and the answer to that will come in (fairly quick) time from the professionals
