Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

It makes the market a lot more interesting when you have stock, but it would make a nice change if Easynet would go up!!

Thanks for the information we will have to wait and see what happens ie a takeover. If I hear anything I will post it for you.

been watching this all the way down looking for an entry and surprised it has reached here. My take on the sp has been its just been a gravity effect - in other words because there has been little interest the price has just kept falling under its own weight. Chart says 60p and that will be the time to look carefully

i do agree, they need a statement out or something to just highlight their real value...these are heart stopping moments when it seems like someone knows something but all that is arequired is a breakout th snap this losing streak.

i actually thought the chairman buying last month would have done it. maybe he will but some more!

I too am a believer in this stock. Bought in at 1.12 on the growth story and have topped up today at 63.5p,although it shows as a sell. Chairman would not have bought last month if there was bad news around the corner. Hoping for a bounce from 60p level.Share suffering from bad news in the sector and lack of news on it's own fortunes!

jj50 - 29 Oct 2004 15:46 - 82 of 602

Well I am out.... Had set a ridiculously low stop loss and had forgotten all about it till I looked at my account this morning and it had "booted" it out! May consider re-purchase if it hits 60p!

proptrade - 29 Oct 2004 15:47 - 83 of 602

hang in guys, i have a feeling that contract win announcements may be round the corner.

some interesting moves today...big sellers out in force...maybe a late buy will be registered and the mm's have walked them down to cover the position???? maybe wishful thinking.

proptrade - 29 Oct 2004 16:06 - 84 of 602

slowly moving back up...

joehargan1 - 29 Oct 2004 16:27 - 85 of 602

I topped up again at 64p...once again into ESY too heavily but I believe it is sentiment and not real value that is keeping the price at this level..they need some great news and the interims were not particularly compelling but it is a phenomenal bargain at this price and a bounce back can as well be expected. Suffering because of the general malaise in telecoms but underlying strength will be recognised by the market..just a matter of time.

proptrade - 29 Oct 2004 16:31 - 86 of 602

EXACTLY...these name gets dragged along with the crap like colt and thus buts its product is highly differentialted and in particular NOT voice focused.
buy and hold and wait for a fair value of 200p. i am.

proptrade - 01 Nov 2004 09:32 - 87 of 602

sunday times article taliking about the smaller telco's. doesn't mention ESY in the article but does mention consolidation and reading between the lines is all about backing the survivors and proven business models. backing ESY all the way...

proptrade - 01 Nov 2004 09:49 - 88 of 602

500,000 has just been booked...maybe clears an overhang.

proptrade - 01 Nov 2004 14:01 - 89 of 602

big volumes today....

proptrade - 01 Nov 2004 15:28 - 90 of 602

is noone else watching!

capa - 01 Nov 2004 15:38 - 91 of 602

Trying not to watch this one proptrade, trying to convince myself that I do not own the shares, that way I will not be tempted to sell.

I have promised myself to hold for a year and best way for me to honour my promise is to pretend I don't own any.

These are a buy and long term hold imo.

i like that...i may use it again sometime!

joehargan1 - 01 Nov 2004 16:41 - 95 of 602

Prop,

I always listen to you and look forward to your posts on ESY. Thanks for keeping the faith..even although it must feel like you a lone voice in thw wilderness at times...I agree with you and capa...serious potential whenever the market comes to it's senses...consolidation would help because currently ESY getting lumped in the sector laggards...the opposite is true. I couldn't believe the 64p on Friday and topped up heavily so I'm happy once again today ...but a sustainable recovery in the SP is what we need..if we get some momentum going I think we should see 100p behind us in next to no time.

ziblot - 01 Nov 2004 17:01 - 96 of 602

Held for a while @ 149p and will hold. Seems to be a battle with cost of broadband going on but will top up when funds become available. z

proptrade - 02 Nov 2004 10:14 - 97 of 602

Thx for the comments. I have been round the houses talking to various city guys about this name and the consensus is that ESY is highly differetiated but some brokers have not grasped its true potential.

The conversations I had referred to potential private equity interests sniffing around or existing players here that may want to buy a network as opposed to the virtual lease that in the long run will never fully realise full potential.

The fact is that ESY has a fully paid for network and 40 million in cash. if you add the value of the fixed lines and the cash you virtually equal the existing mkt cap. the simplest maths but i warrant that the mkt doesn't realise that with a working business model that the company has already proved with EBIT positive from next year then everything beyond goes straight to the bottom line.

100p is ultra conservative. i am holding for 200p.
