Hi guys -easy going day today as the Ym auction is closed but the machines will be running the show i suppose as the other guys will be full of turkey and very high in spirits.I hope the short hours trading tomorrow is not legless.
I have got a trade on the EUR/USD -short on at present.Lets see how it performs and if alright then will put these on aswell so we can cream on both sides of our cake and hopfully eat it.Off now to Gds cafe and cause some havoc.

Thanks Zarif, Snowball for your kind words.
We've got three potential buyers so hopefully it will be off our backs in a few weeks then I can concentrate and put all my efforts into this malarkey.

Anybody any thoughts on the best place to start? I have been buying and holding shares for several years but this trading thing is pretty new to me.

Do I:

Read books. I I'm partially sighted now following a brain tumour so the thought of reading a 300 page tome does not inspire me. I am considering however, buying Come into my Trading Room by Elder and the one by Lefevre about Jesse Livermore. OR

Do I pay to attend courses and seminars (Robert Newgrosh. Expensive but you have to start somewhere but I know on their own they will not make me a trader.

Apologies for the off topic subject but thought it might help ease the withdrawal symptoms of a closed Dow

Regards
Harlosh

Harlosh:
there is a very good book with a cd by Martin J Pring called "day and swing trading" By memory i think its about 40. The good thing about it is that the way its written and it says the book is not that important but the multimedia cd with it that u can learn from at your own pace with the tutorials etc.Give it a try and see.

The currency trade did pay off -not megabucks (no not the person) but anything past a decimal point is a gain.

zarif,

as a result of your little problem tonight with your pc and a certain website can you please put a SAFETY WARNING on this thread as i cannot take any more of this laughing :-))))))

Mega...

zarif - 27 Nov 2003 22:57 - 785 of 2279

megabucks - you can hold me to ransom for keeping your little secret (but they were big ones - if you put them in a field and if they eat grass -you could milk them forever!!!!!!

I will put the "warning sign on" no problem.

zarif,

that site is used i believe by a lot of people and that is how it was sent to me like that,no names will be mentioned but i was warned as well and you guess it right i fell for it as well:-)that is why i was laughing so much if some one tells you not do it what do you do bloody have sneaky look:-)human nature aint it.

But if people use it for what it worth and dont go looking it is great little site.why it was done like that i do not know why!!!!it seems a shame prehaps it was the only way around it????

Glad you are doing well on your money thingy....

Hi guys the Ym auction is on -but remember they are not on full cylinders as they are closing early today.

safe trading.

snoball - 28 Nov 2003 16:22 - 789 of 2279

My long closed out this early am for 2 points. It missed the target 9800 by 10 points. Getting stops right is still something I'm trying to get the hang of.

Afternoon all.

zarif - 01 Dec 2003 14:09 - 793 of 2279

Hi everyone:
I think the Ym should be quite unteresting after the TG break and with all the bourses trading high and the futures looking quite good there is all the makings of getting to 9900 today in my opinion.
So lets see what the Ym auction threows at us.

Hi zarif,
It is certainly bullish today.

I had a short EUR/USD which i closed for a 10pt gain.Just watching the dow at the moment to see if it goes to 9900 then maybe short it.But am going to let the market decide my action.

Metastock calls days like today, Big White Candles. When near resistance they are often followed by a downward correction of 50 points or so. But not always. At the start of a trend (i.e. near support) they are very bullish.

Harlosh - 02 Dec 2003 00:01 - 798 of 2279

Good to see you again Zarif.
We must do it again soon.
