So do the legitimate tenants get the compo or some other sleeze , surely they can only pay the legit person.

I can't imagine how an ex-GT tenant might be seen to qualify, particularly if they were a sub-tenant of a legitimate KC tenant.

PS. Don't lets forget, that Sadiq Khan has a bit of 'bad history' on Grenfell Tower, in that in his past he said 'No' to fitting the building with sprinklers and alternative frie prevention stuff. If at the time, he'd said, 'Yes. It is important and it must be done' then perhaps such a lot of GT tenants and residents wouldn't have died.

It wouldn't surprise me to learn lots of tenants were sub-tenants of legit tenants but have you got any further info' on things?

i would sue for my money back , who is going to pay at the end of the day answer we the tax payer . yes its not a good time for them but it will be even worse for those that bought for a happy and retirement .

Sadiq Khan has told LBC that he is backing a complete amnesty. He said: "No action must be taken against anybody in Grenfell Tower who comes forward.

"There may be some people who are sub-letting, breaching their tenancy agreement.

"There may be people who have got friends and family visiting, who they are worried about if they report them because they haven't got immigration status.

"All of those people should feel confident that if they come forward and speak to the authorities, that no action will be taken."

It's now down to the Government to confirm whether the Amnesty will be extended. Mayor Khan says he'll be pushing them on this in their disaster relief meetings.

Oh an amnesty , so we are getting down to the nitty gritty then , that's without all the scammers , potential arsonists looking for opportunities around the country , what a can of worms has opened up here .

According to the Kensington & Chelsea Council, over 3,500 people have come forward to claim they were living in Grenfall Tower and, are demanding compensation, new housing and a veritable smorgasbord of handouts.

One disgruntled local said, 'Who are the real tenants of Grenfell Tower? It appears many of those council flats were illegally sublet. And the people whose names are on the tenancies are now getting 'rehoused' in luxury £1.5m flats, while many of the actual inhabitants of the flats on that terrible night are in local B&B's or in some cases sleeping rough or in cars and vans."

He went on to say, " you can bet your life many of the new 'tenants' of the luxury flats will then rent them out on the private market for a fortune'.

Official enquiries = years of time delays to protect their mates.

1) An inquest "immediately" involves the local people who matter most.

Interesting up until the 70s the UK had a Civil Defence organisation.

Primary object was to "clear up" after "nuclear attack" or similar "catastrophes".

Perhaps, it would be sensible to reform similar on a smaller scale for but with the ability to cover the who whole of the Uk with the organising ability to deal with "problems" such as caused by the flat fires.

The other thing which surprises me is that there appeared to be only one exit and no other escape routes.

Another is that stairwell did not seem to have "draught doors" sectioning areas off.

But accept that the cladding seemed the likely method of fire spread.

Another, is why wasn't there an effective fire warning alarm?
